W203/CL203 Aftermarket Exhaust Thread - All you want to know
I know it has two of each cat due to it being a V6- I was saying that it not only had secondary cats, but also a resonator. Meaning, I thought it was amusing that they (Mercedes) kept changing the fact they wanted a resonator/no resonator, secondary cat/no secondary cat- then when they got to 2006- they decided they wanted both.
They cut piping after the 2nd cat i believe, mandrel bent the pipes into a magnaflow muffler, ran the right side outlet between the spare tire and bumper into silverline oval tips. They did the right side cutout, which looks great.
I think it sounds good. I didn't want it too loud, so its perfect for me.. Here are some pics...
I like it- the tips and cutout look very good.

Thanks Splinter!!
Thanks bumpnzx3!! I think the shop did a great job, was kinda hard to trust a muffler shop to do the cutout, but luckily seen their work/referrals in this thread.

That install bay looks familiar...LOL. Big ups to Pepe on making yours look just as clean as mine came out!
Looks good, ROLLNN!

Also, instead of having the pipes go to 2 mufflers I was thinking that I could put in a resonator (remus) just after the 2nd cat. and then just have piping go from the res. to the tips unless I can find a quad tip muffler
If you can follow that.....what do you think? I am just wondering how that might turn out
Also if you can recommend some good quad tips/muffler that would be sweet
btw: Yesterday I made my roof and "cut out" on my rear sport bumper black.....looks pretty dope

You have to take into consideration, you have a V6 while i have an i4, so it might be a little louder on yours. You might want to check youtube for some sound clips.
hope this helps...

First time I took my car to him, he was telling me how when my Kleemann Muffler was first put on, the mounts weren't done properly (and too lose). He welded them more securely and I never had probelms with a clamp breaking ever since.
I noticed that once I started driving more, my exhaust settled in a 'bit and moved slightly. I may go back to have them adjust it, but it's so slight that you can't really tell unless you look really close.
Either way, the guys over there know their stuff.

you mentioned 2 mufflers, i didnt do 2 mufflers, no need to with our cars...

- Why would you ADD a resonator, when there's already a secondary cat?
You're making it WAY TOO complicated. Weltmeister already offers a quad-tip setup. FrankW has the setup on his C32 and there are a few others that have done it as well.
Easiest way to do a Quad tip setup is to replace the muffler w/ the Weltmeister, have the rear valance cut to fit the quad tips and you're done.
The amount it would cost for you to do all of the above-mentioned work, would end up being close to the same price of getting a "custom" quad tip exhaust.

and im kinda dumb so I thought that you would put a muffler with each tip

Since obviously you don't want to spend any money on the setup, the easiest way for a shop to do a custom quad setup is do the piping EXACTLY like ROLLINN did. Only difference would be that you'd have to get an aftermarket muffler with dual exits. All the shop needs to do is weld piping for 1 exit, then for the other exit, they run the piping from that all the way to the other end where they'd weld dual exits on the other side (JUST LIKE THE WELTMEISTER DESIGN).
Again, you're making it WAY too complicated.

All I wanted to know was if it could be done another way, and I now that it pretty much shouldnt be done any other way
thanks (no sacasm intended)

that looks great. now just paint or vinyl the diffuser part
