Last week I was going around a turn, down shifted to second, began making the turn, and when I punched the throttle out of the turn, my car had nothing. I bogged down. The car felt as if the gas pedal just died. I turned my car off waited a few seconds and she started right up, no problems since. Im going to take my car over to mercedes benz today. Anyone know what causes this?

I thought you were going to have us fill in the blank by the look of the topic
"I was going around a corner and my car died when I pushed ___________"
1. A hooker out of the passenger side door
2. A balloon full of crack stuffed into my body cavity out onto the dash
and I have no idea about your problem.

How much gas was in the car. If it was near empty the gas probably sloshed away from the pickup tube. Ergo no gas no go !!!
Yeah I know, 2 hours isnt a long time for an online forum to respond with some help, but Im just a little nervous. My cars at mercedes right now and they are saying that if they cant find the problem, I'll have to pay for the diagnosis. Now I have come to understand that if you turn off the car it erases the error code in the computer. Also this problem pops up randomly, and if they can't replicate the problem, then I'm stuck paying for the visit. Kinda of a crappy situation to be in. I just bought the car from benz 2 months ago.

He was teasing you about the subject of the thread. It's not a stupid question, but if you compare the subject that you made on mbklasse to the one you made here, it does make a big difference.Originally Posted by c2seta

Either way, it sounds like a familiar discussion that has taken place on here before regarding the m111. Hope it works out. Sorry, I can't help on this one cuz I've never experienced anything like that before. Were you able to find any links on here that related to this type of problem? Maybe a search for "dead accelerator" or "accelerator unresponsive"?

i think this actually has something to do with accidents in a heavy movements like in an accident the gas is shut down so you dont explode

Let me get this straight, if they are incompetant and can't out why your car is stalling YOU have to pay them?
Gotta love mb Member
Did you hit the rev limiter or something like that? That happened to me, under similar circumstances in my 2001 coupe.
I believe all the RWD 5speed transmissions are the same....correct? By design they will not shift while in a hard corner. If you hit the rev limit in a corner it will cut out, not shift, and not respond until the G load is gone. My opinion based on my owner's manual. Just a thought. RTFM?

W Cole, my car IS under warranty. Thats why this is so frustrating. The car is in service right now. They said they would run tests and so on, but if there is no record of any malfunction in the computer, and they cannot replicate the problem, then I have to pay a minimum of 244.00 dollars. I just bought the car from them in august. Hopefully they find something and fix it. Check out the mbklasse post I hyperlinked above in this thread. Theres lots of good info on mb protocol regarding this " dead pedal" problem.

I don't know if we have the same problem but my car jerked and there was a small explosion sound before "service engine" light was suddenly turned on ... I have experienced this twice - once the gas pedal completely gave no power and second (just recently) the car cannot shift to second gear ... When I brought the car to service after my first experience, the advisor said that I should avoid leaving the gas tank empty .. But my tank was 3/4 full when the second incident occurred
