My new steering wheel with the new shift pedals

I do not want to make the paddle shift to work, I just want to have the look. But of course all the steering control buttons must work as usual. Here are the pics. The arrows showing the connectors which are not matching to my existing W203 wires. My mechanic did a workaround to fit the connectors (its a 3 pins in this new airbag) but the dash went erratic. Some functions not working (like my iPod controller)
I have no pictures of my existing wiring (I need to go to the workshop and have it open to take pics), if it helps you who can help.
To Sunman, part no's are:
- steering wheel: A 171 460 04 03
- airbag, could not find the part no, but got sticker attached to it marked EC4050910508
So, any ideas how to fit this to my 2006 W203 then?

The green and yellow airbag connectors should fit across the line of MB cars. The only change was made when they went from single stage to dual stage airbags. Since you are not in the USA, I cannot help you a great deal. If the 3 pin connector does not fit, chances are that it will not work correctly. I can guess the problem is the extra tab on the new 3 pin connector. Tell your mechanic NOT to change teh 3 wires around. He will probably damage the steering control unit if he does that. You may require a updated steering wheel control unit and clock spring to make this work. When doing these kind of retrofits without the necessary resources, you'll have to eat the cost of new parts just to see if it will work.

BTW, been thinking again...mine is C230 Sport, delivered January 2006, so it must be an end of 2005 production. Could this be the problem of incompatibility that mine is actually a 2005 not 2006 car??

7 months later..... finally!!!!! I DID IT! Please don't ask me how the step-by-step details how to do it. All I did I left the car for 2 weeks in the workshop, asked the mechanic for a 2 weeks project: to retrofit that steering wheel, to wire my DVD player on AV2 on COMAND Tuner, and (heeheee) install WiFi+3G modem router, and then I went on vacation! When I am back, today, he did them all. All I know everything working well! The mechanic said he took the button controller from the old one and "transplant it" inside to the C55 steering new modified wiring to make it works.

Heeheee...., I should share the journey of my mods in my own thread. I converted a C230 Sport "Classic" to "AvantGarde", and this steering wheel was the last one close to match AvantGarde spec. I too like that AMG F1, but feel juuuuuust not there, as you might know the feeling once you're in the mood for modding.
So far I've done upgrades:
3rd party
Last one I plan want to install MB UHI for phone with bluetooth puck, but since W204 is coming to Indo next 2 months, I probably will stop the modding of my W203, and begin saving the $$ for W204.
So far I've done upgrades:
- AMG body kit+CL grill+flat emblem
- impact strip with parktronic holes
- C55 trunk spoiler
- COMAND+iPod controller+TV Tuner
- replace the interior trim from wood to aluminum
- SLK shift knob
- change the seats to AMG seats
- AMG pedals
- AMG brake + AMG 17" style IV
- folding mirror
- C32 AMG exhaust system
- digital climate controller
- C55 steering wheel (NEW)
3rd party
- AMG door sills
- HID BiXenon
- rear view camera+parking sensor (with digital metering display output)+LCD rearview mirror for camera and distance meter display
- Wifi+3G Modem router (3.6Mbps HSDPA)
- DVB-T receiver digital TV
- DVD player from NextBase (modular type, the same DVD player I usually take out and put on my treadmill machine for exercise)
- aluminum door pins+surroundings
- (custom) carbon pillar like in C32

Oh, the paddles not working. I did not ask and I don't think it will without additional modules according to Sunil. Beside, as I posted earlier, I do not want to make that working, just to replace the wheel for the look sake.

amazemeid,
it would greatly help if you updated your profile

This item had a bit story for me. I got it with a little journey...I found the unit in Singapore. I had to import the new steering wheel in 2 separate shipments; wheel by air and airbag by sea (DHL had to put it as dangerous goods for air). Waited for 3 weeks before the two separated jointly again. Dealt with custom myself. Found that it was not a plug and play when trying to fit, tried 3 different workshops (and it is NOT still a plug and play even without paddles), and now I finally see it on my car. Bit sentimental journey -eh? For me it is PRICELESS.
thanks for the comment. I still keep the AMG F1, let's see if I change my mind few months later.

would it really kill anyone to look up the wiring schematic for the stock W203 steering wheel and that SLK wheel and see if the steering wheel controls match that steering wheel, then simply look at the wiring schematic for the autostick feature of our cars and see if it matches the type of switching or buttons for the paddle shift? this is a fairly easy modification if everyone stopped pointing to the next guy in line for the answer.

After a long wait, I finally have my new steering wheel installed plus a bonus " the new shift pedals".
The entire steering wheel was cool especially the shift pedals which I enjoyed it. I spoke to my mechanic and was informed that the this steering wheel can be used on the C-Class W203....
