If you ever need to strip the paint off your wheels...

Get some of the EFS-2500 stuff. Brush it on, grab a beer, watch the football game, come back three hours later, and hose off. Can't be easier to use, and best of all, it doesn't smell like paint stripper, virtually no odor at all, and environmentally friendly to boot. Fresh coat of clear should go on in a week or so...stay tuned.

I'm going to re-clear them. As you know, iForged clear suck and they have started to peel. I'm going to try to spray it myself with a HVLP spray gun. If it doesn't turn out the way I expect, then I'll probably get them powder coated silver.

since you're stripping off the clear coat why don't you change the color of the wheels.

Not really into colored wheels. Always thought black or grey wheels are kinda ricey. I like the brushed aluminum finish on these wheels and would like to keep it if possible.

This is with the stripper applied. Once you hose them off, it'll just be bare metal. Since it's brushed aluminum finish, it'll stain if I don't clear coat it, and it'll be a pain in the a** to clean. I'll get some pictures of it before and after it's cleaned up tonight.

haha, alright, let me rephrase, I think colored wheels are too flashy. How about that?

Just called Sanders at TWS today, and I'll probably drop off the wheels for him to do a clear powder coat. He's quoting me prices that's almost not worth the trouble of doing it myself!

"Double Stuff" SOLD | Nor*Cals "Pesky Audi"
see i personally like drex/colored wheels. partially cause i cant stand chrome or "bling" just annoying to me. i love being different with a passion and with the color scheme im mainting [which is still simple] it will look hot. its all personal prefferance.

Looking back through the old thread, are your wheels black, or midnight blue to match your car?

Color matched OZ Superleggera III's (i.e. CLK DTM road wheels).

Speaking of Sander, he is the one that hooked the rims up.

Yup, works on wood. It's really good stuff. Here's a link with more info on it: http://www.m-tc.com/efs2500_home.htm
