Brakes skip/studder when I'm breaking hard...

Ok, so lately if I'm boning out and need to stop quick and I step on the pedal kinda hard I can feel the pads "skip" on the rotor. I actually don't really know how to describe it, but any of you guys have this problem?

Are your tires worn to less than 3/32"? Your "groove" might be about to loose traction and the anti-lock system is kicking in to minimize braking distance.

ABS and also Brake Assist both feel weird when they activate. Just letting the computer do the job it feels you are not able to handle on your own, haha...

unless you feel it at regular driving then your rotors could be warped.

is it the brakes or front end? Like when you hit the brakes, does the front end shudder? Feel it through the brake pedal? If so, your front rotors may be warped. Have them checked out.

If your brake pedal is pulsating, then its ABS.

still under warranty? dealer might cover it if it is. if not, might as well upgrade the rotors if they're getting replaced

make sure your lugs are torqued correctly...probably not it, but worth a check.
I thought i had a warped rotor and found 3 lugs almost falling out!

How are your pads and rotors wearing? Does it give you feedback through the pedal or steering wheel? You should limit your 'boning out' to the bedroom.
