You've gotta be sh*tting me. SoCal is the land of the aftermarket. What about Autowerks, Evosport, et. al? Your yellow pages alone should give you hundreds of shops to choose from.

The best deal I've found at $330 complete (Eibach springs + install but no alignment), but it's a bit of a drive to Alahambra is at http://www.d2.la/ They can probably do it while you wait if you have a few hours. That recommendation came from Brabus C. Also Calvinlgh had a place in OC for about $120, call him at 949 413-0897. An MB dealer gave me a quote of $270 including the alignment.

Let me know what you do. I'm on the fence on this one. Have you given thought to doing it yourself. My guess is to remove the struts and take them to a local shop, even Pep Boys and have them remove them replace the springs and put the struts back in. The rear looks like a piece of cake. I like the Eibach because it only lowers the rear 1" and front 1.3" to give it a little bit of a raked look. That 1/3" difference in the back will also not make the camber problem as severe in the back.

I sent you a PM with the details. Why do you want the H&Rs over the Eibach? Just curious. Some say the Eibachs ride better, some say the H&Rs ride better.

I think the because i like to lower the car more...cause for me its too high... an inch drop would do much..you can hardly see the difference...so im thinking if im going to spend money on this i want to see results..i called h&r they said no need to change shocks with their springs...

The H&R's are 1.4" drop in the front vs. the Eibach is 1.3". Don't think I would notice it. I'm more concerned about the rear looking like it's sagging with the tire buried under there. The H&R are 1.3" rear vs. Eibach is 1". The coupe is 1/2" lower than the sedan to begin with so if I had a sedan I would drop it the most I can.

from my experience those numbers are never accurate...if they say it drops 1.4 i would say maybe an inch...if they say 1.3 maybe 3/4...

Yes, you can do that but what about the rear? How do you take out the rear spring (spring and shock are mounted seperate)? You still need to do my way without the compressor for the rear....:>))).

Buell, btw, my friend shop do have the spring compressor to remove the front spring but can't use the same compressor to remove the rear spring.

I would recommend Sander at The Wheel Supply. His tech does good work. They are in Diamond Bar area by the 57 & 60 frwy. But they do not have alignment rack.

I asked the MB dealer here in Tucson if they would install aftermarket springs/suspension package and they said they would do it. However, they will not guarantee the work. I have not gotten a quote on how much yet. I also asked the dealer up in Phoenix and they said "no". I asked about possible MB warranty issues and they said that there should be no problems. Looking to get the Kleemann springs.

Nope I got H&R from EvoSport and installed myself.
The refs are good, but I never used either personally.

who_dog,

I talked to AJ up at Schumaker MB in Scottsdale - parts adviser. He has alot of good info - he is a big Renntech fan. But, he did not sound like they would do anything there.

My SA at Beaudry MB in Tucson is Mike Pearson - but he refered me to one of the techs - the tech talked to the service manager and he said that they would do the install if I wanted. I have not gotten prices yet - I will get quotes today when I go back a pick up my car.

I have not tried to talk with anyone at Phoenix Motor Car or the new dealer in Chandler. They may be more willing to do aftermarket stuff. I liked talking to AJ at Schumaker - he just seemed alot more knowledgable on aftermarket tuners than most of the other parts people in Phoenix/Tucson.

belive me i have had it on my car. the H&R springs will not make any difference in height on the back unless u change the spring pads. if u dont the rear looks stock and the front looks a little lower.

I just ordered a new spring compressor and some Vogtland springs for my C230K. I plan on doing my own install. If you don't mind helping me offset the cost of my spring compressor, I don't mind helping you change your springs.

Before you buy spring pads, look at what ones are on your car already. Under the spring, look for 1, 2, 3 or 4 dot molded on the underside of the spring pad. 1 dot is 8mm thick, 4 is 23mm thick, the other two are spaced evenly between.

If you already have 1 or 2 dot, don't bother changing to make the car lower, 3 or 4, maybe.....
