Kleemann M272 Headers
Not sure if this is a re-post; if it is, whatever.
Does anyone have this kit installed on their 230 yet? I wonder how much this costs including installation.....

For 1500 I'd do it. But I agree, over 2k seems excessive. Ideally, I'd just buy the parts and find a tuning shop that has experience with Kleemann to get it installed.......

Wow, that is a healthy increase in power, just from a set of headers. I wouldn't think the OEM manifolds would be that poorly designed. Wonder if that is a dynoed figure?

Man, if cost wasn't an issue, I'd love to get these headers and ECU installed, get a REMUS exhaust installed, get the lighter 18" AMG rims from the CLK63, and find me a CF hood, which I'd paint to match the factory Pewter Metallic.

4 grand for headers and pulleys..RIP OFF put that 4 grand toward buying a c32 i wouldnt bother modding the engine of a c230 not worth it just M.O. too much money, all that money in upgrades could have been a c32 with way more horse than you would get from any mods to a c230.

Totally agree, if you want to do the stoplight drag race, get a Mustang, there is a well known term called American Muscle and there is a reason why this is attached to several domestic cars.
The hp claims from aftermarket always seem exagerated, I mean 30+hp just from a change in exhaust and headers?? I know from my experience working with British sports cars looking for extra hp from my TR6 that unless you address both sides of the engine the gains are minimal. In simple terms in order to blow more (exhaust) you need to suck more (intake). For my TR to suck more that means more than just adding a K/N filter, it means adding header type intake manifold with multiple carbs (read as triple 2 barrel Webers) and a high lift cam.
Chips can change the engine output but I think that headers will only add 3-8hp in real world terms (and I am being generous). In most times with the new sound you feel that you have more power.
About a year ago the connection broke between the manifold the front exhaust pipe in my Acura and basically it was like open headers on that car. The noise was incredible but there was not huge noticeable increase in power or torque from the engine
Modding is fun and a great hobby, just be smart on some of the advertised claims and the cost effectiveness to get there. As someone who works in the ad biz just remember that these company's business is to sell you the goods.
The cheapest effective gains will be felt through upgrades in suspension, brakes and tires, if measuring in a closed circuit such as a track. You will cut laps time more significantly with these mods.
