Check Engine! Grrrrrrrrrr
So I was accelerating, actually quite strong from a stop position (0) to what I can think was somewhere around 65~70mph. Of course it was quite hard (I mean, still within the revs) and after I hit that mark I let go of the gas and the check engine lit up
Methinks it could be a sensor only but I really don't know jack about cars. There are no malfunctions though. Is that normal? I've accelerated the car like that before and everything is good.
FYI: I have a C230 2002 Coupe Automatic.
Then get the code, so at least you'll know what the problem is. And your dealer wouldn't be able to tell you differently. Also, if you clear it, there's always the chance that it'll not come back, and it was a one-time blip.

Get back to us with some data. Truly the best way is by giving us the OBD II code that you can get with the scanner mentioned above.
Help us out to Help yourself. The Closed Loop operation of MBZ is quite safe, so I don't think you'll do severe damage by driving it a bit.
SCHOK, do you think that as an adult you can present your input in a mature way?

Ok, so I can't really feel anything different from before and after, although I haven't drove the damn thing too fast because I'm afraid something worst may happen. I do admit it was uncalled for how I suddenly accelerate but c'mon is a Benz
. My car is a c230k auto with roughly 63k miles on it. I can't really anything different, no stagger, tough starting (more than what already is) or any other indication... Weird thing is that I checked the oil for giggles with the hu display yesterday and it was fine. This morning, in the same spot, before I crank my car up said that it needed 1.5qts...
after I came to work checked it again and it was fine... granted I never checked the oil that way I'm not sure which is a good way to do it. I'll drive by autozone tomorrow to get the message check... I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks!
30 bucks or something cheap like that

DTC (Codes)

O2 Sensor
Circuit Malfunction
(Bank 1 Sensor 1)
What stuff could happen as a result of having a bad o2 sensor? (Besides the environment but that's a different story - I don't live in CA
)

Is it expensive? anyone care to adventure a part number? (c230k coupe, 2002 -auto)
THanks

Only problem would be if the Unit is frozen into the bung. PB Blaster can help get the old one out. Whatever you do, DONT ROUND THE Nut part.
