Hey Everyone,

I've spent the last few hours trying to figure out exactly whats changed between the 2005/2006/2007 c230's. Usually people ask what options have been added with newer model years (For example, 2007's have added dual-tipped exhaust), but I'm wondering whats been removed in the newer models.

Based from memory of posts I've read, talks with the dealer, and looking at the model year comparisons on mbusa.com, etc, this is what I've gathered:

2005
- Split/folding rear seats available.
- Memory seats (optional) are tied individually to each smartkey.
- Homelink/integrated garage door opener available.
- Tilting passenger side mirror when in reverse.

2006
- No memory seats are tied individually to each smartkey.
- Tilting passenger side mirror when in reverse (only with memory seat package).
- Split/folding rear seats available.
- Homelink/integrated garage door opener available.

2007
- No memory seats are tied individually to each smartkey.
- No tilting passenger side mirror when in reverse.
- No homelink/integrated garage door opener available.
- No split/folding rear seats available.

Can anyone let me know what else has been removed, or if any of this info is incorrect? Thanks.

Actually, for the 2007 models, almost or most of the extra features have been disabled such as the tilting passenger side mirror when in reverse and fuel content display just to name a couple. I know this for a fact because I had Steve turn all that ***** back on last nite during my bix install

2007 also had the tow away protection removed as well, and the button on the console for it is gone.

and you can't get the aluminum trim anymore, replaced by black piano wood trim in 2007

This may be in the states only. In Canada, we have most if not all of the above as options in the C230 and standard in the C350.

This is what was emailed to me by the dealer:

"It does not have the garage door opener as it is not available 0n 07 C230. Folding rear seat is only available on C 280."

Can you confirm if you have this on your 2007 or not? According to the mercedes-benz.ca web site, only the 350 has the garage door opener available.

Just ordered a 2007 this morning.

1)I did have the option to order the rear folding seats (I did not order them, though)

2)I ordered the Sunroof pkg, and it did list the Homelink as included in that pkg. (I sure hope I get that, as that was one of the reasons I got the Sunroof Pkg.)

As far as the tilt for right mirror in reverse and Smartkey assigned to memory, I was told that those features can be enabled by the dealer.

It contains various dealer ordering guides for the 2006 and 2007 models. I have found that to be the most comprehensive easy to read information. I also have the 2005 on my hard drive, if you want it just PM me your email address and I would be happy to send it to you.

Another important one is that the C230 in 2005 had the Kompressor engine which was smaller. It was replaced by a normally aspirated V6 in 2006. For 2007, the wood is not piano black wood as someone said, it is black bird's eye maple. Piano black wood is that solid black wood that looks like a Steinway grand piano. That is only available in the S-Class and CL-Class right now.

Also for 2007 you get the new chrome style SmartKey as well as new wheels. Personally I like the 2005-2006 wheel style better for both the sport and luxury sedans. Also there is a 7 speed automatic transmission for 2006+.

Yes, the garage door opener is not available on the C230, but it is standard on the C280 and C350 in Canada. You can see what's available and what's not in this pdf (page 28):

For 07 (C230 at least), it seem, from the US brochure that even the front seating surfaces are MB Tex instead of Leather, unless you opt for the full leather package.

Well this is definitely confusing. I can see available options vary from model to model (c230 vs c280) but it also seems some options are not available in Canada as opposed to in the US.

According to this Canadian brochure, http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/site/mb_..._eBrochure.pdf, page 28, you can not get the garage door opener or split/folding rear seats on the 2007 c230. Does anyone have the Canadian brochures for 2006 and 2005?

on the 07 they also changed the center glovebox..it is now one big useless compartment as opposed to the two level, multi-opening version in the 05, this is on my friends 07 230 non SS, but at the same time they no longer come with cheesy looking plastic black door handles standard which is a big plus in my opinion if you are planning on getting any other colour but black

does any one know why the silver paint on 05 looks different then on the 06 cuz i parked my 05 to 06 and the 06 paint was lighter n way diff than mine WHY?

the whites are different aswell..the Alabaster is more white where the new one is creamy.

hey guys,
so i have been looking for some aftermarket black halo/projector headlights for my 07 c230 sport sedan, i found some on ebay under ebay motors (parts & accessories,lighting,headlights) but they are all listed for 01-06 i thought they were all the same(c class W203?), atleast the headlights( I Hope) so i need some help b cuz if they would fit my 07 c230 then i will get them but just want to make sure b for i order them.......any help would be awsome......

so i found some super nice black headlights with halos for my 07 c230 SS. just wanted to get some opinion about if these are good , any issue about these if anyone heard anything or any wiring issues...any help would be appreciated....thanks !
