Just Installed OEM Frosty Xenons

Just installed some OEM Xenons (Not BIX) I got from a guy that upgraded to BIX. He had an 02 C32 which are not the clear ones. No big deal, I can't tell the difference between my old ones and the Xenons since they are both frosted. The install went fine but there was one thing I noticed between the Halogen lights and the Xenon lights. There are 2 connectors on the Xenon housings versus the one connector in the halogen housings. From reading other posts, I gather that the extra connector is for a self leveling device/harness. If this is correct, can I get this from Steve aka MBenzNL?

The other question is the High beam and DRLs (especially the DRLs) look odd when mixed with the Xenons. Is there a safe bulb (meaning will not melt my housings) that I can use that would closely match my Xenons? I performed a search on this, but there aren't many threads that discuss installing/upgrading to early W203 Xenons.

I have an appointment tomorrow with the dealership to have them enable the Xenons and I should be set. Oh Yeah, I must thank Drexappeal for his write up. This helped big time.

getting your hands on the telemetry parts for autolevel is extremely challenging....
almost next to impossible. Steve does not stock these as far as I know. This
retrofit isn't even something normally done outside of the factory. Quite rare.
Best bet is to try pulling off a wreck. (yes, the 2nd port on the headlight is
for the autolevel)

Thanks for the advice Raymond G-. Getting hold of a wrecked W203 with Xenon levelers is next to impossible. I'll just leave it the way it is.

Well, the dealership turned on the Xenons and they look wonderful. Now I need to do a search on the best method for adjusting the headlamps. One is a bit higher than the other. I think that the $95 was a bit high for 5 minutes of work required for turning on the Xenons, but I guess the dealerships are there to make money. This however was easy money for them.

I understand that part, but what I was looking for is a method of adjusting. For example:
How far should the car be away from a wall when performing the adjustment, and how high should the beam be at a specific distance?

$95 bucks later and I have some decent OEM Xenon lighting. Not bad for the price! The lights adjusted fine. Almost didn't have to do anything at all. I recommend this factory mod for anyone that really doesn't care if they have clear or frosty Xenon headlamps.

Anyone have a good suggestion for after market bulbs for hi-beam and city lights that better match the Xenons? I am clueless when it comes to aftermarket bulbs. Thanks!

if you can't tell the difference between light output, you might wanna go see a doctor.

and you should have just buy a HID conversion set since you not getting the clear headlights

LOL! No no, that is not what I mean. When the Xenons and the city lights (DRLs) are on together, the lights are comparably different. I want the DRLs to better match the Xenon's color/look.

For the city light they should be 194 bulbs.. these also work awesome with clear sidemarkers so buy 4.

194 (SuperWhite)
Silver Chrome
$2.99

Yes, city and sidemarkers.. I also have them on my Suburban aswell. I would buy some extras so if one burns you have a replacement, they are inexpensive and truth be told I have had the same bulbs in about a year in a couple cars and not a one burned on me yet.

Do you have HID? If so, do you have any night pics you can share with the the fogs, headlights and parking lights on?

Here is the best pic I could get with my camera. The camera does not really bring out the contrasts between the halogen yellows and the Xenon whites.

Yes, Here are some pics, The S500 has fogs built in to the headlamps assemblys and I do not use them and they are not on in any of the pics here .. I installed Piaa LED's in empty wholes in the front spoiler where the fogs should be.. My low beams are 6000k Phillips Ulitinons and those piaa led fogs are like an 8000K color. You can see the city light 194 bulbs in the large round center next to the low beams.

The bulbs came in today and installed in minutes. The color very closely matches but could be brighter IMO. Here are a couple of pics.

Just City lights

Xenon & City lights

Seeing as they are fairly inexpensive, I might try some other bulbs.

That looks really good man. Look how close the color is with your xenons now! I hate when I see those yellowish city lights on cars with that great hid color. Your lights look perfect now
