Seat problems...
Hi guys,
I'm going nuts with some noises in my car, specially in the driver seats...
When going on bumpy roads the driver seats looks like its loose!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9T6jtwV1tKo
other noise its from the fabric from the seats against the plastic covers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU6jTSmUlvs
Any tips how to solve this problems???
Thanks
PS: the seat its from a 2003 Euro coupe, and I also have electric seat

i didn't know they made electric seats with cloth cover. i wish i could give some helpful advice, but all i can say is that the first you tube video of you hopping up and down in your seat is hilarious (no offense)... its kind of like a spy-cam/action shot of you doing something else lets just say i like my c230 coupe... but strictly for driving. ok thats enough...

yeah me too, it sqeeks right!?
ANNOYING, i tried stuffing a piece of thick paper between the seat and plastic cover, both left and right side of the drivers seat. less sqeek. but im still trying to see how i can fix it. i think im gonna take the seat apart, and reinstall it.

i had a similar squeak with my car seat. if you feel under your seat, there are two clips one of the left and one on the right. each clip is screwed into the seat on one side. if that screw is too tight, the clip experiences a bit of stress leading to the squeak.
you can fix it by loosening the screw just a little. alternatively, get some small fabric or rubber, loosen the clip, put the rubber in place and re-tighten.
i hope that helps with the squeak. it took me a while to track it down!

I have the plastic squeak.
Mercedes will always say the same thing. And I am not fat either. 175lbs, that's all. It's just the foam inside the seat bolsters expands after a couple of years of being squished and eventually starts rubbing against the plastic covers around it. Putting other material between the plastic and the seat does not fix it. It actually makes it worse. The squeak is coming from the plastic getting bent. With more material in between it will just be pushed further. I am going back for service in a month, I'll bring it up again.

hahha thats some funny stuff.. but in reality it must be torture.. The car is sooo quiet that a noise like that could drive a man nutts. Or it could drive a man to humping his steering wheel...
Try any wd40 on the springs of the seat? Check under the seat where it bolts down to the floor for loose bolts, nutts, screws, etc... You can fix your fabric by putting a thing piece of painters plastic in between the fabric and plasic.. it wont look the best but its better than that squeak
