Headlights for right hand drive

I'm newbie from Japan. My car is C200 2001.I want to change my headlights DIY and I need some opinion.I already read some of the thread but still unsure.I have 2 option.I will buy used (1)OEM headlights 2005 model or (2)OEM Bi Xenon headlights. But both from left hand drive,i think from Germany. Will it be problem?I read from the thread the height can be adjust. So it wont be any problem, right?

No, you will need to source Right Hand drive headlamps.

UK Spec 2005 Bi-Xenons can be adjusted for Right Hand Drive to Left Hand Drive although I understand that this is only intended for temporary driving on the continent (also needs to be carried out by a dealer).

Try to source RHD lights from ebay.co.uk or ebay.com.au

Also try benzmodz.com they're in Australia.

they will still work, but you will blind the heck out of incoming traffic.

I also had the same problem, since I live in Cyprus (also one of the few RHD countries in the world along with Malta...)

I installed a pair of bi-xenons bought from ebay.de made for the LHD w203.
They will blind anybody coming from the other side. I manually adjusted the level both horizontally and vertically to avoid this.

They still work fine and they give a very bright beam, so if the LHD are much cheaper go for it... Mine costed a total of 400 euro including shipping to Cyprus from Germany - the dealer here wanted 2000 euro for the complete installation

Be very very careful, 'modifying' LHD lights for use on RHD cars is most likely to be illegal or road use (we definitely couldn't do this in the UK).

Once the car is over 3 years old, we have an annual vehicle inspection in the UK where they check lights, tyres, exhausts etc. I'm sure its pretty strict in Japan too...

Eventhough you adjust the height, you still have a sharp cut-off that points out to your left that will blind oncoming traffic, for a RHD drive vehicle, your beam pattern should be like this \__ \__, LHD cars have the opposite. This is designed to light up sign on the side of the road.

In Japan every 2 years you must send the car for inspection. They check lights, tyres, exhausts etc.But they only check if your lights working or not.Not too strict.

So what ever I do/adjust to the LHD headlights,it will still blind oncoming traffic?

This thread has 16 posts prior to mine: 4 don't deal with the question, the rest tell you not to do it and give you reasons in some fashion or other. Why do you keep asking about making LHDs work? Don't you believe the membership?
