Aero Wiper Retrofit Discussion Thread

I have successfully retrofitted the aero wipers found on the 2004 W203 (and W209) to my '02 32. :p

But it is not a cheap mod at all (the whole thing cost about USD220)!

Whoever gets this mod must also get the folding mirror mod.

The aero wipers, known in Germany as "S-Line Wipers" are quite useful in that that provide better stability at highway speeds while typically emitting less noise at high and low speeds. These are one of several MY04 MR203 upgrades from the C/A209. Others are the rain sensor with 8 sensor array and center console with right/left opening top shelf. The other change for MY04 (not from the 209) is the adoption of the CL203 "cross knit" headliner material for the W and S203 which previously had the soft fuzz.

a little off topic, but when you have your wipers on can you feel it in your pedals...like vibrations each time they move? I can feel it in the clutch and brake whenever I have mine on.

Yes, absolutely!! Less noise and better sight. The only problem: The new blades cost 4 times more than the traditional.

Kompressor4u2nv,

It's raining in San Francisco and I felt the vibration on my break
pedal when I stopped at the light.

It is normal to feel the wipers in the brake pedal. This is due to the fact that the wiper motor and the brake pedal both mount to the firewall and the large wipers need a lot of tourque to move them in a fast and efficient manner. Completely normal.

calboy: these wipers are the same as the ones on your CLK. You dont need to buy them!

AlBoston: I dont know yet. It hasnt been raining. But all new wipers are supposed to wipe pretty good. It is good just by hosing it.

Kompressor4u2nv: yeah, you can feel the wipers motor when stepping on the pedals. It is normal, BUT IMO, a design flaw. This shouldnt happen to a Mercedes. Only W203s has this problem.

CitronC230K_03: it is a 10 mins DIY job.

DiWi: Exactly. The wiper blade is a one-pc design, you have to buy the whole thing instead of just the rubber. Each blade costs $22.

VERSUS: just get it from the dealership.

Talking on the topic of wipers, is there a way to fit the W202 one blade system on the W203?

retrofitting the single blade is out of question. The motor is mounted in a different location all together. Does any one have the part numbers for the new aero wipers. What's needed. I understand the inserts at 22 dollars are needed, but what else. Arms, etc... MB dealers are a pain when it comes to parts ordering.

I tried to order the stuff from the dealer and got everything to go through except the blades inserts. One is not available. I was told the are the same on both sides. Can someone verify this.

Nono. The driver's side blade is LONGER than the passenger side.
