There are two slots on each side of the instrument cluster. You need a special tool to take it out. but if I remember correctly you can use two coat hangers and bend the tips. Just insert the hanger and pull out.

Your best bet is to buy those, but if your in a pinch the hangers work, they've worked for me. They need to look like this.

yes it's the same. make sure you don't have your key in the ignition when you disconnect the cluster or you will have a air-bag out warning only the STAR can clear.
