Serpentine Drive Belt
just had A service done yesterday.
hit 50k miles and now i'm out of standard warranty.
dealer says i need to replace serpentine drive belt.
is this the belt around the pulleys?
dealer also said i need to do fuel system and fluid replaced.
trying to figure out if i have to do them at 50k miles or not.

It is rare for a serpenine belt to go out at 50k. I would inspect it myself and check if there are any cracks on the ridges of the belt. It's the belt would around all the pulleys. You can probably do it yourself. All you need is a 13mm socket and wrench. Fuel system cleaning is not required but is preventive maint. I am not sure which fluids he wants to change. I would do a brake flush at 2 years and a tranny filter change with fluid replaced. At 50k, it would be fine to just drain the tranny pan and change filter and refill. A total flush is not really required.

thx sunil... i guess i should do fuel system cleaning soon... yeah, he mentioned brake fluid replacement... gotta STFF and find good MB shop...
yes, i have evosport pulleys... i got them installed at 15k miles... so i think i'm fine for a while... btw, stealer quoted me $180 to replace the belt...

Just replaced my serpentine belt yesterday, very easy, its actually a one person job, make sure you write down the belt pattern it should also be on the back on the belt packaging your purchased, I got a GoodYear belt for $30.00, but surprised I had to change it, my car has 52K on it but the belt did have cracks in it.
