He's probably looking for a power source for the Amp.

Dude... forget that. Stay in the back. I don't know about the sedan, but the coupe has a block in the rear. I assume sedan is same deal.

In the coupe, #7 is empty and ignition switched. This way you don't run power to the amp all the time. I know it is not a biggie because of the blue remote power on, but hey, take it as a bonus! Plus it is in the trunk!

FWIW: I was advised by another member here not to run power from the fuse block in the trunk.

There is a big black rubber grommet in the firewall near the battery. Take off the HVAC filter and you should be able to see down there. There are some unused holes that are PERFECT for running heavy AWG wire through. I think the battery may have to come out to really get your hands on it. On the the inside, you'll need to remove the black plastic panel under the dash to get to the grommet (just a couple phillips screws, no big deal).

I think I have pictures somewhere....

I guess I see the point if you go for 10 gauge or bigger cable. But if that's the case, see if the rear has a buss connector instead of a fused location. Then you could hook into that. In my former BMW the battery was in the trunk, but the engine compartment still had a + terminal available.

Tip: look long and hard and think about which side of the car you'll run those cables. Seperate the signal feeds from the power if you can. Do not ground in engine area, but scrape paint and attach to new ground point as near as you can to the amp. If you decide to run up the driver side of the car, noticed that there is a TON of small cables running through there - perhaps the passenger side doesn't have as much.

Cheers.

Hey you know what? you can have someone install it in Zero Haliburton luggage, attach with velcro and then yea, you can take it out. Or.. conversely you can bend steel rebar and wrap it over the sub so then weld to the subframe.

Seriously though.. you can do whatever you want. That's what makes it a 'custom' install.

I would go for a single box design with the amp mounted on or in the box (make sure you leave room for venitlation). Then attach with quick connects so you can unplug it and go.
