SO! Today, I was driving by some corner dealer and parked out front was THE MOST PATHETIC POSER BENZ EVER! I actually had to pull into the lot and inspect it closer. On the back of the car, on the left side of the trunk, it had the /// part of an AMG badge, and immediately following that were the letters A M G in some sort of a shiny material so it looked like it was diamonds. On the right side of the trunk, it said LORINRES with the same imitation-diamond lettering. THEY SPELT LORINSER WRONG!!!! And on the front quarter panels, if it was an AMG it would say like V6 Kompressor or whatever, but no...instead...it had the same imitation-diamond lettering that spelt out 20" WHEN THE RIMS WERE CLEARLY 18" RIMS. I peaked inside the car and this frikkin PATHETIC LOSER even had the nerve to put yet another fake ///AMG made of diamonds SMACK DAB ON THE FREAKING STEERING WHEEL! I'll try and get pictures of this sometime next week if it's still there.

In Lynn, I saw a nice 2005+ black W203 drive by, I admired it's beauty until I saw the rear badged CLK430 and I wasn't sure if the badge on the other side said AMG, but it could just have been 4MATIC. Why badge a fairly new car CLK430? If you want a CLK so bad, at least badge it with the 03+ badges, CLK350 and CLK500.

here's a theory, well actually it's a compilation of true stories....

many independent body shops work on rear-ended Mercedes-Benz and not knowing anything about badging, just slap on whatever they either have in the shop or whatever they get at the dealer. For the C class, when you buy badging, it comes with the CLK. As for the numbers, those you have to be specific about, so not knowing any better someone can easily mistake a 230 order for a 430 order. So you end up with a CLK430, because they don't know they're not supposed to use the "LK" and don't know what the numbers mean anyway. Sounds crazy, but true !

body shops are crazy. I spoke to this guy that lived by my school, he got rear ended on his 99 ML320, and the body shop aligned the words with the lisence plate frames, assuming all mercedes benz are like that. so the star and badges were about, 1 1/2 inches above the lisence plate. on a ML.

I saw a very clean obsidian black W203 lately...even though it had the "icey" headlights and fogs of the earlier W203's...nice car...as I saw the rear...it read out CLK230

I had some body work done and they re-badged my '06 C230 "CLK320" because they just put the full badge on there.

Of course, I had 'em de-badge it and give me some free touch-up paint for the error.
