C350 Pulled Away from 300C Hemi?
Leaving a toll booth today I had this guy next to me in a new 300C Hemi Chrysler and he's hitting the gas like it's a rolling start at Talladega. I figure the big 5.7 liter beast, 340 horses and 390 foot-pounds, is going to pull away from me. But he didn't (or maybe he couldn't). We were flogging it side-by-side in the toll-booth-no-man's-land from 20 mph up to maybe 100 before we got to the lane markers and backed off. We were dead even at first but after I got rolling I started to pull away from him. Not much, maybe one car length by the end. Now R&T says that beast will do 5.8 seconds 0-60 and MB says the C350 will do 6.1 to 6.4 depending on where you read it. But R&T also said their 6-speed C350 did 5.4 seconds 0-60. OK so I have the 7G-Tronic (and it works pretty well from a roll) but that's still a world of difference. So am I deluded and the dude wasn't trying or is the 3.5L in the W203s way underrated by Mercedes?

that sounds about right... the 300C is a BOAT. even though it has a massive engine, it's 0-60 time is 6.2s, the C350 is 5.6s right? the C350 should have no problems eating that up!
I've toasted a v6 300C in my lowly C230K... At first, I was shocked, but when I went online and did some research, I saw that that thing's 0-60 time was an astonishing 8.9s
the v6 versions of the 300C, Charger, and Magnum are jokes.
and ESPECIALLY take into account that most of the owners of those cars put on heavy *** bargain basement chrome 22's on them, thus making them a hell of a lot slower...

Yep, I have worked for both Verizon Business (Ashburn) and AOL (Sterling) in the area... I work in Fairfax now, but I still pass through this area quite often.
Do you hang out in any of the car meets in the area?
I've been to East Coast Euro's northern VA meet once, and I will try to participate in BlackBenzz's MIR event in April.

I live out in Ashburn and work up at Tysons so my commute is all Toll Road, Greenway and Route 7. Ug. I haven't hit any of the car meets but I'd love to do the MIR thing. I have raced a Ford there for a couple of season and dragged my bike there in the Fall. I love it out there, it's a blast.

Didn't think of that. Can't say what his door handles looked like, things were happening pretty fast. But from 20 to maybe 50 we were side-by-side and I was WOT in a good gear so whatever he had it could run at least 6 point low something 0 to 60. There was a point there that I thought he was gonna blow me away.

a C350 should be a pretty fast car, sadly not that many ppl talks about it, cuz its in the high price for a non-amg W203
ive never driven one, but i really like the 3.5L V6, my sisters ML350 uses the same engine, and i have to say her ML350 is faster than my 230, even tho its a big box... so imaging that engine in a W203...
nice kill
