HOLY CRAP!?
Are you guys all convicted cop killers?! Those rates are horrendous! I am @ $350 / 6 months $500 deduct.
I had no idea!

The lowest quote I've found have been $350 per MONTH with Progressive. I've tried State Farm, Farmers, Geico, Nationwide, AAA and others. They say rates are high in Texas, esp. Dallas, and insurance for a Mercedes is always higher than other cars. My ONE at-fault accident (which was actually only partially my fault) apparently makes me a "high-risk" driver.
The whole insurance this is a very sore subject with me right now. BTW, I currently drive a 2000 Saab 9-5 and pay $220 per month with Progressive, which was has been the lowest I've found.
A few years ago when I replaced my 1999 Lexas RX300 with a 2000 ML320 that was more expensive, my premium actually decreased over $100.
Look for a good insurance broker that can quote you on multiple companies and try increasing your deductible. $350 a month is way steep unless you have a few drink citations on your record or too many accidents.
When I was an agent I sold a guy a policy for 3 cars with $1,000 ded. and his premium was over $7,000 a year. And that was in 1986.
1300 for my benz and 400 for my 94 del sol both rates for a 6 month policy full coverage in NJ tier 1 (no points). i just turned 25, both cars are 1300 (like i got the del sol covered for free). im about to submit my defensive driving certificate renewal to my insurance so that would knock off a few dollars.
OK gals and guys. Lets level the playing field so everybody can understand and compare. Include your coverage, comp, collision, pip, etc. Then of course add your deductables and extras.
I also noticed the age on some of you on here, so lets see how much (sugar) daddy contributes before you pay up.
This is supposed to be helpful to others on here and not just about bragging rights and/or what nots.
Just to show you how crazy insuarnce rates can be, last year my house was renumbered for 911 purposes. The insurance company could not locate the hosue on thier maps because the numbering was off thier maps, so they changed my rates from those based on a 9 digit Zip code to a 5 digit Zip code. My insuarnce cost dropped by 20 per cent! This in a town of 5,000 people!

I agree this is supposed to be helpful. Thats why I love this forum though I haven't contributed/shared ideas (like most of these helpful guys around... appreciate it!) I certainly am a user of such ideas/advises.
Just because some of us are "young" here an assumption is made we don't pay for our cars and/or insurance? Please.
I know I know 'text' can be misconstrued sometimes. Insurance is a very broad topic and an interesting discussion. I agree with DougWW it is very hard to compare.
Anyway, (100,000/300,000/100,000) with collision deductible $500 and comprehensive deductible $100 and optional substitute transpo.
Discounts are (aside from the basic anti-theft, ABS brakes, air bags etc..) automatic payroll deduction, garaged vehicle and about to renew defensive driving discount (hey... anything to save a buck!) Thanks!
There is no (sugar) daddy but a (sugar) mommy... just kidding!

Point well taken 'dizzy bee'
Oops, I mean bizdee. It is a lesson to be learned and just like you I agree with DougWW. But when I see a claim of $55........AHEM. In addition it also has a lot to do with what car it is; C230, C32, etc. Lets not forget age. 40 - 50 should pay less than 25.You get a garage discount?
Where I'm at that is expected and doesn't make a difference. Also the defensive driving course costs more than you would save on the policy and is only good for 2 years: $50 cost vs $1/mo savings. And I live in the boonies out here; you know like roll up the sidewalks when it gets dark.:p P.S.
Would your sugar mommie adopt me?
