07 c230 - halogen to HID = impossible?

so i have a 07 c230 sport, and after spending countless hours on the forum i havent read once about someone with my problem.

As most of you know the bulb type is H7 in the C230, however I can't seem to find a kit that is compatible with the new OEM 07 harness, it appears the OEM wiring goes directly into the bulb (2 prong type thing), and all the kits for H7 seem to be the typical clip that blugs into the housing.

so my question is, is there a kit that even exist for my type of wiring?
and if so where can i get it, Im in Canada and cant find ANY modders in my area

I don't get your question or reasoning. As far as I know, I've never seen an aftermarket HID kit that uses the OEM socket because it is built for incandescent bulbs.

If you're trying to just purchase HID bulbs and then plug them into the OEM socket...I'd seriously suggest not modding your car That scares me.

Did your car come equipped with HIDs stock? Thats the only thing I can think of.

sorry guys im a newb to cars but basically here is what im looking for
thanks to tangerine...

Basically as seen in the pic, the blue and black wire plug into the OEM harness
which is what I have in my car as well, but kits I seem to encounter dont have those 2 wires seperated like the blue/black but have one "clip" type connector.

Im opening to US retailers who will ship or suggestions on canadian sources
im new to the MB family, sorry about that!

Any chance you have pictures of your HID kit? If your car came stock with halogens it should work with the H7 kit with the wires from the pic shown. Otherwise I think you got the wrong kit. And make sure to get a compatible HID kit that works with the bulb out error messages or have your dealership set xenons to present.

Ditto. Did you make sure to get the proper type of HID kit. It's not just the fact that it's H7 bulb, it's gotta be the proper type of HID for MB.

2006 CLK350
hey guys, decided to get a pair of bix for my clk350. swapped the original headlights. 1) sometimes the headlight warning comes on and sometimes it doesnt. 2) i am now UNABLE to shut off my lights (it seems to be on auto mode all the time, off in the day on at night, even when i turn the knob to "O")..............dealership wont change setting for me cause they said i didnt get the lights from them. I've read alot about capacitors on here, but they are usually for the DIY xenon kits. can i add a capacitor for my oem bix headlights? and if so HOW? thanks

It should be fine, they run at lower current/temp than the stock halogen. Its only the initial startup that requires more, still not much of a concern since it doesn't last long.

if you don't want an HID kit, you should try PIAA extreme white bulbs. i have those in my city lights and they look really nice so i'll be getting some of those for my headlights too.

if you know how to install, BIX should only take less than an hour to do it

If you wanna go cheap, you can try a set of Sylvania Ultras at your local Kragen or Autozone store. You wanna get the H7. They're slightly brighter than stock but definitely white. Expect to fork out $50 for the pair.

I can't say much bout the new PIAAs but I use to buy them for my integra and they burned out really fast. 5 months maybe is the longest they've lasted. Hopefully they've made some improvement.
