HID installation HELP, please !!
I have read the entire thread......but.....what is the true and the easiest answer to solve the flickering problem.
I have install an aftermarket HID kit into my C230K, of course the error message ( check headlamp...) but as soon as you start to drive the car....the HID shuts off....and on....and off.......
Should I insert an equal value of resistor into the wiring ( on the +ve. wire before entering the relay ), and should it solve the whole problem without going through the dealer?????? Please HELP !!! Thanks!

i dont know what kind of harness you received with your hid kit. Your harness should be taking power directly from the battery and using the head light plug as a trigger.
What you can do it take the wiring for the relay that acts as the trigger and tap it into your side marker wiring. This is the cheapest way and the way i did it. You will get a check side marker warning because of the drop in voltage from the side marker, how ever your head lights will work. It will not affect your light output or have any negative effects on the car other then the warning light.

Thank you for your advice. I though of that too, but willing to find an even better solution. Now, we will have 2 warnings, one for the burn head light, and one for the side markers, Right??? Again, it will save me a lot of trouble to go to the f$*#ing dealership and pray for them to do the reprogramming on the ECU.

correct. I think awhile back someone sold a bypass where you could plug it into the head light to trick the computer into thinking you had it connect. It was on one of the threads here. But i remeber it was expensive so i decided to pass on it.
Tell you the truth, i try not to mess around too much with the mercedes wiring and electronics. They tend to be overly sensitive compared to the japanese cars i use to work on.

Hi Benzo8, 8K is the one you should use. Anything above 8K is useless. Please do not buy from eBay, buy from a store. In case of problem with the HID, you will cover from the warranty.
