Lol, very well - getting some audio in her soon. Simple, minimalistic, dual-din and a single XTANT 10" sub. It'll be enough to satisfy the audiophile crave (space-saver too for those uninstall track days).

On the engine work side... well . Best be coming to the 5/12 meet!

hahaha...enri., this hasn't been discussed no the forums yet, but I know what you're talkin' 'bout. I've had a few pm's about this and Carlos brought this up also.

I'll let the admin's know about more issues with pics that you've had on here. Unfortunately, I don't have the power to fix the images...(or just don't know how...LOL).

I'm assuming they are pics that weren't linked from a web hosting service (i.e. attached through MBWorld server), because if it is pics linked to a web host, I may be able to fix those.

You know what would help is if you could pm me links to posts where there used to be pics, but currently have red x's. That way, I can find out if they are something I can fix or needs to be fixed by an admin.

Just the exact posts, so just make sure you click on the post# to get the URL to get each specific post. I tried putting together all your threads, but you've posted a lot of pics of the years...

Enri,
the pics with the RED X's.... did you upload them directly to MBWorld using the "attachment" feature, so that they resided on the MBWorld Forums server ? If so,
what you can do, is right click on the RED X. Go down to: "PROPERTIES"
Click on "PROPERTIES"
COPY the URL of the image (should start with www.forums.mbworld.org.....)
PASTE that URL address on your browser. A page will open asking you to log-in to MBWorld. But you're already logged in to MBWorld right ? Wrong.
This is the log-in to the "old" MBWorld server, where the pictures are being stored. So log-in again, and presto you will see your pic. Now if you hit the back button on the browser, it will take you back to the thread where you found the RED X's. Hit the "refresh" button, and now since you're logged on to both MBWorld servers, all the RED X pictures should show up as long as they were linked to: www.forums.mbworld.org......

I've asked Ricky to go back and fix that, but no one has been able to figure it out. All the pics on my COUPE thread are a bunch of RED X's as well as all the DIY Picture Threads which today's newbies are always asking about.

Even look at Andy's (AMDEUTSCH) signature picture....

it's a RED X because it's on the www.forums.mbworld.org server
not the new www.mbworld.org server.

Even the MODS can't figure out how to fix it !

Damn...there's gotta be a better way to fix those. I assumed that it all happened when the switch to the new server was done.

I'm not that much of a "techy", so wish I had a easy fix.

that's just the work-around Drex, NOT the fix.
I've PM'd Ricky a couple of times, and he said he was going to bring it up with the Big Boss Mods... so we'll see if it ever gets fixed.

For example, I have a complete DIY on installing IMS with tons of pics, but all I see are RED X's. And there are over RED X's in my Coupe thread alone.
AMDEUTSCH sig pic is a RED X. And it goes on and on......

EDIT: oh ****, did i just post something from a PM... please don't BAN me.
I'm sorry !

That's weird, Carlos. I was able to see the pics in your IMS install. In fact, I gave tommy the links to each of your 4 step process, because he needed a DIY for headliner removal.

First we have to be aware of it in order for us to make an attempt to fix it.

Thanx for letting me know CARLOS.

that's because the mods are logged in to both servers somehow, according to Ricky, so they can see all. But the common peon user like me, only gets to see whatever is part of the current MBWorld server.
I don't understand it either. Ricky also said it might be a problem with Internet Explorer vs Mozilla or something like that. Who knows...
I'm thinking of just starting a whole new thread, and copying everything over, and uploading all the pictures again.... it would take me about 5 weeks though, so never mind.

the reason for the problem is the easy thing to figure out.....

ANY picture that has an URL which begins with:

www.forums.mbworld.org/........ is not showing up.

If a pic was uploaded as an attachment to that server, and then later "cut & pasted" over to another thread to be used again, then that picture will also not show.

The fix, ( I think) is

1) for some sort of program code to go back through the entire forum
2) ID all www.forums.mbworld.org.... attachments
3) save those attachments under the new server (www.mbworld.org/.....)
4) and somehow replace the old URL strings with the new one

sounds easy, but actually I don't think there's anything/anyone that can do that. I can request for someone to do it manually, from the back-end if possible, but that is labor intensive and just with the 150 broken images in my thread alone would take weeks and weeks to fix one by one.

The URL's are either www.mbworld.org or forums.mbworld.org. There is no www. in front of the latter.
