KevBlah's Silver C320 Thread
I have an AMG C55 spoiler, getting painted Pewter (723), and debating whether having the bodyshop install, or do it myself.

i guess it does the job cuz when i tried to adjust the spoiler after realizing i screwed up..it wouldnt budge..
i considered having a body shop do it too...but realized that the spoiler is pretty delicate and body shops might be careless and get it scratched up...also, i wanted to personally do it to make sure the finish on the decklid would be okay if i was to take off the spoiler later on..

what I did was something like this:
- before I pulled the paper off the sticky tape, I placed the spoiler exactly where I wanted it
- I then used 3M blue painters tape, to outline both ends / edges of where the spoiler sat (after aligning it perfect). This gave me a guide on both sides, so that it would sit perfectly centered
- I then removed the paper off the sticky tape, and carefully aligned both edges, and centered it perfectly.
If you can, get someone to help you, that has very steady hands. Placing it down on the surface very lightly, adjusting very carefully, and watching the edges on both sides. Once you're less than a MM above the surface, take it down carefully and press down hard to set it in place. Then I placed a couple of towels on top, and finally some phone books and extra weight to hold it down tightly.
I thought about using some sort of adhesive glue, but the AMG spoiler came with that sticky tape, so that was a no brainer.
The current C55 AMG spoiler I have for the C-Sedan, doesn't have the sticky tape, it has already been completely removed, so I have the option of using an industrial automotive adhesive, or go with the 3M heavy duty molding tape.
That's why I asked above.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I've heard a lot of people have the same problem you did with the NON-Depo brand. 4 different people have told me that when they received the headlights, there were pieces rolling around inside the headlight.
Even though I am a Depo-basher now, Depo's are pretty well made compared to other aftermarket headlights. Now if only they could learn to install the "bowl" correctly so the light pattern works correctly...

1. I thought it was bi-xenon look all along, but didnt really pay close attention
2. i dont want to take apart the headlamps and then reseal it just to put that cover on
i might sell them as-is...i dont know
Did the package have insurance? If it does, I'd file a claim with the shipping carrier. If you didn't get insurance, you should return the headlights to the seller on eBay. If the seller won't take the headlights back, then I would file a Paypal claim.
I doubt you could get very much selling them as is.

Wheels, drop, and of course that C55 spoiler. I'm thinking of that some spoiler. Now that they're on every '07 though...
You've done a bunch of work on your car in a relatively short amount of time. How 'bout you join us at our next SoCal meet and show that thing off!
