Engine Oil
My engine oil indicator is fine. I manually checked the level with the dipstick and it's fine too. I was wondering whether I should buy a few bottles to store in my house or should I wait until I really need it to buy it.
Secondly, what's the kind of oil to use on the 2002 C230 Coupe?

I would have the dealer add any oil to your car during the warranty period, so that it is documented in your service portfolio.
The sedans sold in US come with Mobil 1 0-40w, but the Coupes come with a synthetic blend, last I read. You can do a search on terms like oil, blend, break-in oil, etc.

For what its worth, my dealer told me 0W/40 is in there from the factory, and is what they will use exclusively for changes, so I'll follow suit accordingly, but you may as well check with your dealer to see what weight and viscosity they will use for your changes.

From all the posts on this topic from the past, I agree with Lynn, that each dealer uses their own particular synthetic oil... sometimes Mobil 1, sometimes Castrol, etc.
My point was that the German-built sedan appears to come from the factory with a hard-to-find fully synthetic Mobil 1, 0-40w. Consensus of reports from Coupe owners in talking with their respective dealers is that the Coupe apparently comes from the factory with a "break-in blend" of synthetic oil, which is then changed out to the dealer's preferred oil at the first A Service. It doesn't make sense that a dealer would use one type of oil for the Coupe and another type for all other MBs, since they buy it in bulk, so I think you will get the dealer grade synthetic for A service and subsequent.
Of course, this only applies for US sold vehicles. There have been posts from members around the world to illustrate that type of oil and its provision widely differs.
