2 Benzes, identical keys, how to differentiate?

I carry keys to both my C-Classes, and I often stick the wrong one in the ignition (Murphy's Law). I had stuck some striping on one, but it's worn off. I'll probably just replace the striping, but has anyone differentiated a key (short of buying a new chrome one)?

Only thing I can think of is somehow color match the keys, for instance make one have a silver dot or something...use a silver marker or something...I'm not sure how much you care about your key, but its a thought...

I thought about painting it - masking the IR first, of course - but it might look like crap.

Benz keys come with a package of different color parts so that you can identify keys by color. Did you lose yours?

I bought both cars "pre-owned"; got two keys with each, but no extra parts... what do they look like? got pics? maybe I can buy some.

They're the little tab that locks the metal key blade into the key. The sliding part comes in different colours; Black, Grey, Blue and Red. The little ridged piece at the top of your key where you thread your key ring just clips into place and can be pulled off. I'm not sure if you can purchase them seperately from the keys (it doesn't seem like Mercedes like doing that sort of thing).

yes, from experience...i think the master comes with a black tab and the spare comes with a gray one...when i went to buy my chrome key, it came with all the colors...i of course chose the black one cuz it matches the key better..

You gotta be an o.g. and learn how to hotwire.

That way you dont carry ANY keys.

That would be my vote as well. Plus, it's a nicer key to boot.

I've got a whole mess of Benz keys...

easiest way for me:
- different keychains for each one.

Mercedes-Benz Collection sells nice chrome "LETTER" keychains
for the A-Class, C-Class, ML-Class, G-Class.

Except he's got 2 C's.
Kind of defeats the purpose to have 2 C-class keyrings.

I wasn't saying that he use 2 C-class keyrings,
That was just an example of what I use for my different Benz classes.
I have 2 C's too, and I use different key chains, one of them is the C-Class key chain pictured above, the other one is a Mercedes-Benz Collection charm key chain that my wife picked out.
