W203 C350: What Parts Fit?
I am sick and tired of the W203 C350 M272 model being left out of all the fun. Ok, so there aren't many on the street but they always seem to be left out of the mods party! Just look at the title of this forum! Where the C350?!? Forgotten (or excluded)! Here's what got me started on my ranting. I checked out the Remus Exhaust website today and they had a part number for an axle-back exhaust system for the C350 so I wrote them about it. Turns out it's for the W204 which you can't even buy over here yet! There are zero on the roads yet they have a decent exhaust system out for them. And none for the W203 of course which has been on the roads for over 2 years now. So I was hoping W203 C350 owners who have done performance mods will list them here. What fits. I'd like to see them fall into the following categories. If you have any first hand knowledge about parts that fit in these catagories I'd love to hear about them.
Mufflers or silencers -
Axle-back or cat back exhaust -
Air boxes /cold air intakes -
Headers -
High-flow cat pipes -
Shifter / linkage -
ECU reprogrammers (93 octane) -
Turbos / superchargers -
Fuel injectors -
Throttle bodies (?) -
Transmission reprogrammers -
Wheels (18"/19") -
Lowering springs -
Performance shocks -
Sway bars / bushings -
Brakes (calipers/rotors/pads) -
Mufflers or silencers -
Axle-back or cat back exhaust -
Air boxes /cold air intakes -
Headers -
Kleeman said the SLK350 headers can fit with HEAVY modification
High-flow cat pipes -
Shifter / linkage -
Schatz Prestige shifters fit, nice chrome trim ring for the boot
High-flow resonator pipes -Resonator delete works fine, $100 and 1 hour, use stainless 2 1/2" pipe
Cams -ECU reprogrammers (93 octane) -
MKB ($3000, most expensive)
Kleeman ($1500)
Carlsson (305hp, most HP, not cheap)
Powerchips (best price)
Speed Innovations (21hp and 29ft-lbs for $700, most hp/tq/$)
Manifolds -Kleeman ($1500)
Carlsson (305hp, most HP, not cheap)
Powerchips (best price)
Speed Innovations (21hp and 29ft-lbs for $700, most hp/tq/$)
Turbos / superchargers -
Fuel injectors -
Throttle bodies (?) -
Transmission reprogrammers -
Wheels (18"/19") -
TSW Bremmas 19" double spokes fit over the 4-piston calipers with no spacers and no fender mods, EuroTeck Motorsports has then for $1850 shipped with Nitto NT555 Extreme 235/35 and 265/30 tires mounted (here's the link)
Tirerack shows nothing
Looks like C32 wheels will clear the C350 4-piston calipers
Air filters -Tirerack shows nothing
Looks like C32 wheels will clear the C350 4-piston calipers
K&N (website has a part number now, I'm using them, work great)
K&N Part Number is 33-2859 (here's the link)

Lowering springs -
Performance shocks -
Sway bars / bushings -
Brakes (calipers/rotors/pads) -

Oh, sorry. I thought the M272 E25 is in the C230, the M272 E30 is the C280's 3.0L and the M272 E35 engine was what I had under the hood, the 3.5L 24-valve DOHC SFI 90 degree V6 with the aluminum block and silicon/aluminum lined cylinders.

MBUSA specs quote the front calipers as dual-piston. Typo on your part or did you upgrade your brakes?

No, it's correct, the 2006 and 2007 C350 Sport Sedan models (W203 M272 E35 to be exact) get 4-piston calipers up front with the cross drilled, vented rotors all the Sport models got. So in most wheel catalogs you will find almost no wheels for that specific model (without crazy spacers). And if you do see a part number, then I would ask specifically about the fitment because some suppliers I have talked to will sell you a general W203 wheel and it will not fit. That's one reason why I avoid the "most W203 parts will fit". As it turns out, when you dig a little, mufflers are a toss up, wheels don't, headers don't, and cams don't. So buyer beware.

Believe me, that's how I had to approach buying wheels. Every single set-up I saw, I had to look at the C32 setup and nothing less in order make sure that I was getting a setup that would clear the front brakes.

It's a valid point and I tend to agree. It's how I started my search after seeing NO C350 part numbers. But I am always still wary. The AMG calipers are 4-piston but look slimmer so I still try to verify.

I have the same exact 4 piston setup. So, if you need verification, my setup clears without ANY problems (although, I do have 3 piece wheels). Anyways, when I was initially ordering, I told the shop to base the setup on the C32 setup.

Any thoughts about improvements since the C320 makes considerably less horsepower than the C350 (215 vs. 268), is there a risk that the C320 system will be restrictive when applied to a C350? The pipe diameters appear to be the same.

if the pipe diameters are the same, then it wouldn't be restrictive.

Email has been sent to answer your question.
Basically, all our Sports Label exhaust systems are straight through, since the diameter of the piping is the same, performance will thus not be affected
