stock fog headlights turning yellow after HID any solution?

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has the same situation. I have installed hids into the non-clear headlights for about 2 yrs and i sort of notice the headlight lens is turning a little yellow. Are there any solutions to getting rid of this yellow stain other than replacing it with clear headlights or bixenons?

Thx

my inside (foglight housing, where the white is) turned yellow/brownish, think probably the HID fog is too hot.

Is the yellowing from the inside or outside? If from the outside try Eagle One Never Dull. If its from the inside did you use the rear covers when installing the HIDS? Moisture might have developed from the inside.

You can get new ones or you can clean them. Do you have any pics just so I can be sure? But to clean them your gonna have to take out the headlamp and pour some cleaning solution inside the lens. Check the rubber seals to see that its in good condition and there are no leaks. If there are, you can add a layer of silicon or you can heat up the headlamp and take out the old and put in a new seal. And don't forget the rear covers.

It has nothing to do with the temperature output of HID's, which actually run much cooler than traditional headlights.

Do you park your car outside? Headlight yellowing is a result of too much UV exposure (as well as airborne pollutants). You can get a lot of it off by wet sanding the headlight with 2000 grit sandpaper and then using a headlight restore polish.

if its because of external exposure, then maybe a preventative measure could be headlight film from 3M. i put it on my bixenons to be safe from chips, so i'd like to think that its also going to keep it from "yellow-ing"

Yep! I have a set of them on my HID's. They look as beautiful as the day I bought them.

3M headlight film has always been highly recommended.

Can't go wrong. If exterior exposure is the cause of the yellowing, then yes, that might work.
However, if it is internal, Tangerine's advice might be the solution.
