Assistance Please - Sirius factory radio install on a 2002 c-230 coupe?
Hello all, i am new to the forum. I am attempting to install/retrofit the factory siriua satellite kit into my 2002 coupe. It is a kit for a 2004. I have a COMAND system ready to go for install and I wanted SAT Radio too. My only stumblng block sofar is that the Sirius receiver connects to the D2B fiber ring. Since my car does not come with the:
SDAR Power cable
SDAR D2B cable
SDAR Antenna Leads from receiver to antenna
Does anyone know where I can get these cables?
Are there any software updates that might have to be accomplished
Or do I just trade up to a 2004 vehicle and install the parts?
I would rather keep the 2002, but if it is hopeless, oh well.
Regards
Nuru

The COMAND system actually is a 2004 version with SAT button, so it is SAT compatible. I have not checked the dealer yet, but I was going to try them out at some point before I get drastic about trade-in. BTW, is the sedan much slower than the coupe?
Thanks

The dealership is just going to look at your car and say: "It's a 2002, and you can't have SAT Radio." Not knowing that you have a 2004 COMAND.
But you may get lucky and have a savvy MB Tech help you out with at least the right parts. Installation at the dealership however, will cost a pretty penny.
as for your question about sedan much slower than the coupe..... the answer is completely subjective to:
- which engine: M111, M271, M112, M272, M112K
- any performance mods? (ECU, pulley kit, headers & exhaust, supercharged)
- manual or automatic ?
- driver skill, weight, reaction time
you can't just throw a question out like that without qualifiers.

Buy the cables from Steve = www.MBenzNL.com if you're going to do it yourself.

Actually, I was focusing on the stock versiond of the C230 Kompressor sports sedan and coupe. I did get my answer today when I traded the 2002 sports coupe for a 2004 sports sedan. So now all my parts are exact matches. So all I have to do is go in and do thas job, and no worries.

Yeah, i just figured, why put the parts into a car with 70k miles and an aftermarket warrranty, when I could put the parts into a certified car with 30k miles and have 4 doors. The coupe was totally fun to drive, but with a few minor tweaks i probably can bump up the acceleration on the Sport Sedan, they are both Kompressors, so anyone got any suggestions for a crank up on the accel? I have heard of chips but have not researched them well enough to be dangerous yet?

if the Coupe and the Sedan had the same engine,
I would of stayed with the Coupe.... but that's just me.
