W203 Crankshaft Pulley Diameter?
#3
Forget it, I thought this forum would be helpful for me to get some close diameters. I am using this data to get a close rendition of what the OEM Denso 7SEU17C variable displacement air conditioning compressor spins at. I am designing an air conditioning kit, and trying to estimate what rpm range the air conditioning compressor spins at. Through looking at the Mercedes Benz OEM service DVD, I am estimating the size of the crank pulley to be 5.0" to 6.0" in diameter, but I'd just like an owner to get some real life measurements. I guess I'll just call the dealer, or ask my friend who owns a Mercedes Benz if I can take a look at his car and get measurements.
I'm sorry someone with a classy car, doesn't have a classy attitude.

Welcome to the forum and sorry but nobody here is capable of giving you the information you seek with the information you provided. For example, if you had the 2.3L motor, there's 2 planes, which one? If you have the 1.8L it's different and so is the 3.5L and 3.2L motors. So the appropriate answer is to measure it since you may not even know what year or engine you have.

It is for a C230 vehicle so I guess we are going to a 1.8L. I do not know much about Mercedes, and whatever I have learned, is quickly browsing the DVD service manual that I purchased. The 7SEU17C AC compressor is used on the Audi A4 platform and for the C230 Mercedes-Benz platform. I have been studying this Denso compressor, because its performance is outstanding. Most new cars are starting to use variable displacement compressors, such as the Nissan 350Z which uses a variable displacement Calsonic compressor.

Lose the attitude! You want info, you'll get more flies with honey.....
I can't tell you, as I have the 2.3L. But there are others who might be able to help.
Whats the purpose of the air conditioning kit?
To replace the oem system?

Hold on a minute. I asked a simple question, instead, I got a smart answer...
and you tell me to lose my attitude? My first post onto this forum, and I was greeted with a guy who thought he was a smart*ss. I wouldn't have asked the question if I had a Mercedes.
My next reply to another member, had no attitude in it, and my reply was quite technical.
You get respect where respect is given. As for the purpose of the air conditioning kit, it is going to be for aircraft use. But I'll leave it at that. Like I said, I'll get the info from my friend who owns a C230 Kompressor, it was just more convenient, if any Mercedes Owner had this information handy.

I am learning about Mercedes Benz vehicles, and for a beginner who does not know much about MB's, I lowered the vagueness of it by specifying it was a W203 model. Now, my next post to be more exact I stated it would be a 1.8L then. A personal profile does not exist, because I wanted to get a first post out ASAP to ask the question. I don't need a welcome cake, but I don't think it's bad if someone had a spare crank pulley they could measure. Or if someone was working on installing a supercharger upgrade kit, who could get the diameter dimension of the crankshaft pulley.

"Double Stuff" SOLD | Nor*Cals "Pesky Audi"
i believe the renntech pulley is 7.5". but that is [if my memory serves me correct] 20% larger then stock. so roughly 6"???

My initial calculations with a 5.5" stock crank pulley, on the AC Compressor of about 7900 rpm. Looks like this AC compressor must be able to spin 9000-10,000 rpm maximum.

----------I believe it was just a joke. Man people can't take jokes these days. Being specific next time also is a good thing. Make sure you put what vehicle you drive on your profile and it will be helpful when you ask other members.

Nice, thanks. The compressor pulley is 4.15" so with a 6" stock pulley the Air Conditioning Compressor spins a max of about 8600 rpm if the vehicle is at 6000 rpm.
