Update:

car wise nothing Waiting for the adjuster to take a look at my car.

Doctor said my muscles might be a bit sore form the impact causing my neck and lower back pain, but nothing major. Take some Advil 3x a day for 3 days and I should be fine.

Looking at your pics really hurts me. All the time and passion were all destoried due to someone's careless.
I can't picture if it's my car. Not only have to get the big hit on the resale price, but also the shadow is always there.
I guess for my future cars, leasing only.

Sorry about the accident, C24, but it's probably one of those "not as bad as it seems" damages, and the adjuster is going to be annoying about it. A similar accident has happened to us (twice on the same car no less) and they fixed it both times. Admittedly not as bad, but hood damage always looks impressive.

One of the bright sides is free chiro for the next couple months, which is always good

And MRK, is this supposed to be car heaven?

Nick, just came across this post and finished reading thru all of this. Man...what a sad day in MBWorld land. A great car has been lost. I was lucky enough to see it in its fully glory over at KevBlah's meet in April at the Larz (I showed up a little late), and what an impressive machine you had. 100% tasteful mods, and what a sound system.

I agree with most of the posters in the eye-for-an-eye justice. Now it's your turn to rear end the Lexus girl, which IMHO, I think looks really cute.

So sorry to hear about this. Hope everything turns out for you. Especially glad to hear you came out OK. A car can be replaced (well....sort of), but you can't.

Best of luck Nick,
Paul

UPDATE:

Insurance issued me a check in the amount of $10,945.83 to start repairs on the vehicle. I was really hoping for a total loss so I can buy myself a CLS or C32 but I am very happy that the car will be fixed. I am going to work very closely with the body shop to try to get the car better than it was. I should have the car back in 3-4 weeks.

Can we say kleemann S/c instead of body kit j/k

wow, does that check include all of the "costs" of custom work? (i was imagining that they would cut you a bigger check)

I assume that's what the adjuster determined it would cost to fix the car.

When my 3 month old 2006 Volvo S60R got rear ended and pushed me into a flatbed towtruck they estimated the damage to be around 27K. They ended up totalling out my car at a cost of 44k.

I think the key factor is the body shop. Some are charge more than others. A friend of mine who works with the body shop and got all the after market parts. He even made money out of his.

I took mine to the best shop in Austin, TX that works on MB, BMW, Bentleys et cetera.

Mine also had frame damage to the Boron Steel, which is very costly to repair. How's your frame?
