Pics of my new car...

I finally picked up the car on Thursday and put over 400 miles so far. I selected 6 pics and put together a little site with a bit about the mods:

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~ferraris/coupemini.html

For all the pics go to:

http://www.eden.rutgers.edu/~ferraris/coupefull.html

Thanks,
Erik

What's the idea behind the C320 A/C?

EDIT: Nevermind, I think you're refering to the digital climatronic panel. At first I thought you were refering to the actual compressor.:o

session - I was told all 2003's have them. It is supposed to reduce wind noise when the top is open.

Iceman's C230 - Basic (Free) black...not sure the name of it.

the only time i have wind noise is when both the top and side windows are open all the way. that little hump might be of use. how is it installed, glue or screwed in? does it have a part number listed on it?

session - I will check tonight if It is screwed on, but I think is glue or something like that. I have no part #.

taylor192 - Where was yours made? It might be only the '03's from Germany (I was told most C's are made in Alabama).

Ummm mine came on a boat from overseas... pretty sure made in Germany... I could be wrong... but I doubt it.

I still wonder why your's has it, no-one else has mentioned it before... maybe its packaging material the dealer was too dumb to take off???

I have looked the past few days and I saw 2 others with it. It is only noticable on non-black cars...It doesn't seem to be related to C7.

Honestly, I kinda like the look of it, so I am not complaining. According to the dealer they didn't know what it was when they got my car so they called and found out what it was. (Was that english?) Anyway, it seems to be glued on because I don't see any screws coming out. With the top open the noise is pretty bad, but nothing horrible.

I am itching to get more power already, I just have to wait until I reach 1,000 miles so I can get a base dyno. I got the car thursday and I have 540 miles already.

I suggest you wait a little longer, as these engines are tight when new and keep improving way past the first 1000 miles. Do it after 5000 miles or so.

I think only the ML is made in the U.S.. Even the ML55 is final assembled in the the U.S. with it's engine sended to the assemble plant from AMG.

If i remember correctly all the MB other than the ML currently selling in the U.S. is assembled in Germany. Those C-class that are assembled somewhere else are sold outside of Europe and North America market.

All C230k's are built in Sindelfingen. Left hand drive sedans and wagons are built at Sindelfingen and Bremen, but some are assembled in Brazil. Right hand drive sedans and wagons are made in South Africa. C32's are not included in the above.

My 2003 is hump-free as well. I think we have a conspiracy

Did you get teleaid? I didn't maybe that's what that is.

When I first saw one with the hump, I thought maybe it was something like that, for teleaid. But I opened the roof and there are no wires or anything going to it from underneath. So I think it is just a wind deflector.
