AMG Fog lights

Just tried to change my friggin fog light bulbs. I managed to change the right side fog by reaching down through the engine compartment. But the other one is impossible. Tried to follow Timmy's FAQ but I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't apply to the AMG front kit. Here's a couple of pics...Timmy, wouldn't mind confirmation that it is in fact different! Looking from the left side of the car...

looking from the center of the car to the left...those small round things (circled red) appear to be the tabs that hold the underbody pans under the fogs in place...I think you have to yank them out. It would have been alot easeir if they used screws! The blue circle show the nut holding the center panel. I am assuming that this part is the same as stock.

How the hell do you get to that other fog?!

Jet, you managed to remove the other foglight bulb without removing the underbody lining??... no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't reach it...maybe I have fat fingers

You have to remove the underbody lining (the one looks like "L" shape) and the clips, thats how I changed my foglights bulbs. Try not to yank them out with a lotta force, just wiggle that clips with just enough force to remove em without breaking the clips.

Btw...what bulbs are you replacing with?? Good luck

Thanks Baj. I removed the other bulb but you should see my arm...looks like a clumsy attempt at slashing myself!! The "L-shaped" underlining...is that the one I've marked with the red circles? Those clips are annoying!

I replaced the bulbs with Philips blue vision. I was trying to get the vision plus but they weren't available in 9006s. Just as well coz I think they would have been too bright. To tell you the truth, the blue visions look the same as the stock, maybe a little brighter but you have to look closely.

Yep...you only have to remove that "L-shaped" underlining marked with that red circles and off course the other 3 screws near the tyre.

I know they're a pain in the *** to remove but theres no other way. Post pics when you finished installing the new foglight bulbs ok

here's what mine looks like at nite.

How come the fog lights are brighter too? Did you modify that also?

Yank them out?? I managed to remove the center piece of the push pins first, then the outer shell can be removed easily.
I used a flat head screwdriver to pry out the center piece and the outer shell a bit so that I can grap them.

nice picture. As I was reading through I was going to explain how they come out, but then I saw your post. Needless to say, I wouldn't have had the nice picture.

If anyone is interested in a comparison between Philips Blue Vision and stock, here's a pic. Its hard to tell the difference...see if you can pick which one.
