I just placed an order for the Dice iPok integration kit. My C240 does not have a CD changer, so I'm hoping this turns out to be a "plug-n-play" deal.
BlackNTan, have you installed yours yet? Anything hinky on the install? I couldn't find an on-line installation document, and I'm wondering how much of the dash needs to be taken apart to install this thing when it arrives.

Any OEM AUX input solution for a pre-facelift W203 WITHOUT killing CD changer or tape? Not too food of slicing up my tape deck... I do notice a round cutout on the right side of the glovebox...

Apparently us pre-2004.5 owners, for some reason, still have the round cutout there, but no hookup behind it for the AUX input. Not sure why, and neither was anyone at Mercedes when I went there to ask. I got all excited when I saw the round knockout also, but it's just a cruel trick. Others have completely disassembled their interior to no avail.

Not having success
I tried to install my dice kit last night and got everythng up and running when testng my initial connections. However, Once I went and attached my connctions in a permanent fashion, my entire radio head unit stopped working and will not power on. I know have an SRS warning/error on my display and am incredibly frustrated and irritated. Anybody have a clue as to what might have gone wrong or how I can fix this? Any help at all would be great as my ego is hurting and my ears sad without music.

Yikes. I'd check the fuses as well. Never triggered an SRS light before, but I know how it feels to have electrical stuff work during the initial temporary stage only to have it not work during the final setup. Good luck.

i'd wear a football helmet if you're gonna be driving the car with the SRS light on.

I didnt actually have to take my head unit out because my cables ran directly into my glove box where my cd changer goes. I then disassembled the fiber cables that go into the changer and connected them via the connectors supplied with the kit dirctly into the dice equipment. I am positive my connections between all of the dice components are correct and i am pretty damn sure the fiber connections are correct becuase they pretty much can only be connected in one way. My error must have been my power connections. Now that I think about it I did not connct the ground cable during my initial testng when everything worked. I hope that wasn't it...

Did you happen to take any pictures of your install?

Dice i-D2B
Interested to hear the outcome from both of you - I'm about to wander down this path myself on a '04 C200 w/changer replacement...
Out of curiosity, is there another MB HU for the D2B cars other than the Audio 10? I'm really more in need of the AUX input than iPod control, but don't want to invest in a COMAND system. The iPOd integration on an A10 seems a bit dodgy since it does not support CD-TEXT, which really means to me I'll still be using some other interface for iPod control...
I was thinking of going with a Blaupunkt HU + iPod Kit + MB Stalk kit, but I really don't want to replace the factory HU..
Options I'm aware of...
1] DICE i-D2B - $340
2] Soundgate ALMBAUX - $240
3] Denison GW500 D2B - $500

Hmm... I'm starting to think my install may be slightly harder, since I do not have a CD changer and the cables are not pre-run into the glove box. Which also means, more chances to screw things up. Man I hope I didn't just buy myself an electrical nightmare...
Did you happen to take any pictures of your install?

Anybody know the best way to fix this? My radio is completely dead. Just a fuse perhaps?
UPDATE: I checked all of my fuses and everything appears fine and in working order. I am thinking the only place left where an error could have occurred is in the wiring between the HU and the changer. Gotta yank the whole thing out now I guess and explore...

Question about volume steering controls with euro comand/aux
Can you control the volume for your ipod with your steering controls? I am getting Euro comand with aux input installed on my 2003 c240, but was told that after i hook up my ipod to the aux, i will not be able to control the volume from my steering wheel... any thoughts?
Thanks

Hmmm
I've looked at the option of adding a Euro COMAND, and was specifically told that the volume control for the AUX input was controlled via the COMAND and steering controls.
If you can find a reference to the "not able to control aux volume with COMAND" I'd really like to know about it, as I've not completely ruled out upgrading to a COMAND....

Rolling the "Dice"
So I'm starting to get a little worried about my order for the Dice i-D2B here. Ordered it from diceelectronics.com's web store on October 29th with 3-5 day shipping, and still haven't received it. I called them last Tuesday (11/6), and they said it was on back-order and was shipping then. OK, fair enough - supply chain poop happens, but an email explaining the delay would have been nice.
Now it's a week later; I just called them again, and now they said they were out of the iPod cable but the order should finally be shipping today. Hmmm... Not very impressed with the order fulfillment process so far.
Hopefully it shows up this week so I can have a little project for the weekend.

Any more progress with the Dice D2B?
I'm in the midst of a similar install, replacing the glove box mounted changer with the Dice D2B adapter in a 2004 CLK Cabriolet. I have the stereo recognizing the adapter as a changer, and I can select tracks with the steering wheel controls but, and this is a big but, there's no sound coming from the iPod. I've tried the aux input on the Dice as well, and still no sound.
The instructions for the D2B adapter are muddled at best, and I'm curious which ground connection you used. If I read them correctly, the black ground wire is used when connecting to an Alpine CD changer (which the Dice pretends to be) or the brown/white wire when used as an Aux in.
I've been in touch with both Enfig where I got the unit and Dice's online support, and will follow up with any more info.

Oy, 2 Dice and a Gateway 500 later...
After the first D2B Dice did not produce any sound at all, even from the Aux input, a second was sent via an RMA of the first. There was a short 2 week delay while Dice was waiting on parts, but I received the second Dice just before Christmas.
Good news, there was sound; bad news, extra sounds, in the form of pops, hisses, crackles folllowed by several seconds or more of silence, then repeated.
After a few more conversations and email exchanges with Dice support on possible installation issues and where the problem might be, and not wanting to spend yet more RMA postage on another Dice, I contacted Enfig and they were able to exchange the Dice for a Gateway 500.
The Gateway was a bit of a challenge to install, since with the fiber connectors provided, there was no easy way to install it in the glovebox where the Dice would have gone. I could have probably found a female fiber connector to replace the male connector from the CD changer in the glovebox, but that would have still left me with a couple feet of fiber to somehow coil, contain and protect there (not that it was much easier to tuck it beside, under and behind the head unit).
I'm still waiting on the pins to repair the CD changer plug, but once I get them I'll be able to reinstall the CD changer as well, but with the fiber connection for the CD changer coupled for pass-through, the Gateway 500 is working great.
Overall I'd have to give Dice a 5 out of 10 and Enfig an 11.
