2003 C230 IPOD Integration or AUX?

I looked to see if anyone has posted anything about installing the ipod integration in a 2003 c230. Which would be better, the ipod installation, or just an AUX jack?

I didn't know that. Might just be easier to just put an AUX jack. What do you have in your c240?

no you don't. I have both and they both work.

BTW - you can't get the iPod integration on pre 2005 C-class cars.

there is a ipod kit that enables the cd changer AND the ipod for the pre 04.5.

hit up K1 Motorsports. I almost bought one. roughly $350+/-. I cant think of the name for the life of me. But I do know it was made by Dension [who's now changed their name and i cnat remember]

im about 80% sure. but this was months back [early to mid summer]. Talked to Tom @ K1. So you might wanna double check. I never went through with a purchase so I couldn't tell you how it is first hand.

He mighta said I'd lose CD function and because I have all my music on my ipod, i just didnt care.

Forgive my 25 yr old mind.

hmm...maybe i should go with the DICE kit, but I really don't wanna give up the changer, but then again, the AUX might not have the best sound quality.

STF and you'll find a post about a hard wired aux input for the pre 05 cars. It's not easy to do, but the results are worth it. You do lose your cassette player function with this method though.

You definitely lose the CD player in a pre-05 because the DICE kit uses the inputs from the changer to operate (also uses the menu buttons, etc.) Just to clarify.

I get my DICE get this weekend and I can't wait to get it in. I highly recommend dealing with Tom at K1 as well, he has taken care of me and actually let me exchange some DEPO headlights I bought (mistake=I learned) for the DICE kit. My changer is in the glove box so I am pretty sure it's gonna be a lot easier for me to install than having to run wires to the trunk like most seem required to do.

Will do.

I am going to take pictures along the way, so if it starts to look complicated I will try and create a DIY for those who have their changer in the glove box.

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
Is that the Dennison Gateway 500?
http://www.dension.com/icelinkgateway500.php

Ah I see
http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_s...CEDES_D2B.html

Less expensive....the Gateway claims they can keep the cd changer though and has usb support for external drives.
At these prices though, + the Ipod, I'd be tempted to go with the
Avid setup.

Yeah I would have gone with an Avic too if I didn't already have an iPod and have this exchange situation that forces me to pick something from K1 instead of simply be able to return faulty headlights. No disrespect to K1, much hate to DEPO, much buyer's remorse for me.

If I were to install the Dice Kit, I would have to disconnect the cd changer. Would I be able to put the cd changer in the trunk and keep using it?
