CF lip and parking trouble

I just realized that even without the CF lip, the stock c32 body kit bumper doesn't always clear sidewalk curbs. Have you guys had trouble parking with the CF lip addition?...running into curbs?

Is it really inconvenient to have to distance yourself from the curb? Call me crazy, but I usually just drive up until my tires hit....but doesn't look like it's possible if i add a cf lip. What do you guys think?...experience?

Well, parkingwise, I can't park all the way up to the curb with or without the lip. It's just not possible with the curbs we have around. Usually I park about a foot away from the curb. So far I haven't hit any curbs and no scrapes on the bottom. I've only had my lip on since Friday and you just need to be a lil slower on steep areas if your car is not lowered. So far I haven't scraped

If you are thinking about a lip as a mod, I higly suggest it. It makes the front end look alot better.

I figured out that once I can see the parking block/curb just under my driver side mirror, I'm about 6-8 inches from it and I stop. I'd rather be safe than sorry. I can only imagine how careful they are at the dealership when they park my car.

I'd rather be a little far than scrape the bumper

oh come on! this is ridiculous. first off, parking until your tires hits the stops isn't so great for your alignment and you could scrape your car stock like that or even get the front bumper caught and do some damage.

secondly, the w203's (even the sedans) aren't that big of a car that it's necessary to pull in ALL THE WAY into a parking spot. I could be a foot away from the parking block and the tail of my car still won't stick out past that of a Camry or Yukon or whatever dominates most lots when they're pulled all the way in.

Yes, you do scrape and do stuff by accident, but if you're consciously pulling in all the way, you're asking for it.

Mine stock doesnt clear curves either. Ive got a few scrapes on it already and ripped off a small section the bottom from a parking lot divider that had some of the metal iron rod sticking out of the cement. Luckily you can't really see it unless you look under but it I was pretty pissed at myself when it happened. The problem was all I can hear is the engine and didnt hear my car scraping.

Reversing is too much of a hassle for me and I feel like a racer when I do so I just park about a foot away from the curb from now on.

Im gonna call you crazy. Park a good distance away from the curb. You would lose more than the cf lip if you lowered your car. More like 1/3rd of your front bumper.

Crazy man.

Strictly the look of the CF lip

I'm only hesitant to buy it because it sorta looks funny that with the lip installed, the front is so much lower than the side skirts. From the side view, you nolonger get the clean edge that goes from the back of the vehicle to the front.

From the front though, the CF lip looks gorgeous! What are your opinions on the look of the CF lip?

I think it looks great, but it seems like you have a lot of reasons not to get the lip. first you can't park, secondly you don't like the way it looks, so why bother? just don't get it.

I rather someone smash my side mirror than I curb my own rims when I do parallel parking. Haha!

Seriously, who the hell parks a car until the tires hit the curb?

Cars contacting curbs in almost any situation is asking for it. I don't care what car (keyword being CAR) you drive, the front end coming within 6 inches of anything raised off the ground is a recipe for disaster.
