You can buy an AMG package in Europe now which consists of some different front and rear pieces and rims. Also note that there are several different engine choices available.

AMG Evolution II will be available soon...as a special order ($1160) item in addition to the Evo I cost

"spring 2002" is what Dave W. at MBUSA said....

Evo II is a different 5 spoke AMG rim and "staggered" tires....makes it a pain in the butt when you have to rotate them. You can swap sides, but the tires are directional, so they have to be removed, remounted, rebalanced etc.

i think it looks pretty good. i like the wheels. are you saying that it will cost $750 (cost of c7) + $1160? do you need to get both if you were to get a new coupé?

i assume that some of the body mods would be available separately thru other channels?

I think I need to call my dealer today...be it a 2002 or 2003 thing, I think this bears waiting for. Please, please tell me HIDs are coming and I will be thrilled. Thanks for the info guys.

Personally, I don't like the rims that much. That leaves a front bumper change that is barelly significant) and a rear bumper change. They don't look sportier to me, so I don't think it is worth the price. I'll stick to a plain C7 (Evolution) package.

I spoke to my local dealer, with whom I am ordered, and he was not aware of the Evo II package coming here. However, he was getting ready to talk to his MBUSA marketing manager and would ask and get back to me. He was also looking for more detail on the if/when of HIDs. I love them on my ML and really want them on the coupe if at all possible.

Thanks for the heads up on this guys. I really do appreciate it. And I am psyched for it. Now, do I need to rethink color?!?

AMG Evolution II will propably replace C7 for 2003. Also expect single in-dash CD, new colors and possible increase in HP. HID will be an extra-cost option if demand is there.

If only I could pick up a 2003 in June... Any chance that the EVO II AMG package will be available by February since thats when I need to place the order for Euro Delivery? (according to mbusa.com, you need to special order 4 months in advance)

The suspense is killing me...3 dealers and no one has ever heard of this as forthcoming. All 3 are now checking with their reps, as they are dealers I've worked with on my travels. Fingers crossed.
