M271 C230 Air Ram Part 2, Air Deflector

Take a look at your intake hose Through your grill, not to much you can see. With the hood closed , the air scoop is almost covered. There is a reason for all those holes in the 2005 grill , and on the 2004 and below, the grill is angled to re- direct air into engine and also Intake tube. When air is travling through the grill nothing is RE-directing it into your intake hose. So I came up with with cool Idea, Real simple. I made mine first with a piece of cardboard. then traced it out on lexon. Would look real cool in CF. But thats later just wanted to spread the idea to everyone who is going to use the drivers side intake ram. For V6 Owners . On the pass. side air inlet tube, you must drill into your upper core support to make AIR DELECTOR mount. Drivers side , just use the bolt nearest to air tube that holds hood latch.. Very easy for 4 cyl.. Well have fun all, and hope you like the idea.. Cheers. Oh ya the card board pic was to show you how it looks the clear lexon was to hard to see..

It's a cool setup, I was wondering if it would be possible for the rain to get into the intake tube if you were driving on highway during a major rainstorm? Since it is a RAM type intake and were would the water go if it does get into the tubing?

I washed my car with the cardboard set up, and nothing got wet. If water did happen to make it through, The factory airbox has a couple of holes on the bottom where it can drain out. But I dont think the rain would hit the grill and bounce in all the way. It is suppose to rain here in la this sunday, I will take a drive at full throttle. and will post what happens.

Wanted to show mig888’s CF intake duct. Pretty slick, isn’t it?

Props for working on increasing the volume and heat attenuation characteristics of your intake air. It’s almost always a worthwhile pursuit for relatively inexpensive horsepower gains.

Because my intake tract looks like this, I can’t offer any first hand knowledge about your setup.

Whenever I service the filters, there is always a surprising amount of debris (insects, pebbles) in the lower housings. Both of the resonators and housings have discrete drainage holes to allow water to drain away harmlessly. Of course, any water would have to travel uphill to even get there, so the possibility is remote.

Because I'm the resident jack-hole around here, I'll share this.

You should do a bit more searching on this site. Your idea is note worthy, but not origional.

So are you going to delete this thread too?

tks splinter for your input and help, The factory air box on the c23o m271 has holes on the bottom where the computer bolts up to. If water does make it this far it can drain out of there .

Interesting that I was one of the W203 forum that provided input. Now it seems that you can't take input.

I said that, "Your idea is note worthy, but not origional." That has been proven. Thus my input to use the search function.

Something is off here. Can't quite put my finger on it, but your various records in the Honda community serve you, not this board. I'm still unclear about your orgional thread. Did you delete it? Why do you feel the need to brag about your records? I guess your offended about my input of, "use the search function."

Ohh, and you are right, I have NEVER helped anyone on this board. Not a sole. I'm the resident jackhole. I guess that means I have no pride.

Your opine of me means squat. In fact, I think I just flushed you down the toilet. Come back with something witty. Or better yet, make good on your threat of, "from today on I will keep my ideas to myself." You come off as nothing more than a glory seeking *****.

Just make sure it looks the part...I wouldnt really go cheap on myself with an "air deflector" that just comes up and over the right intake tract...
