Another Custom Intake M271 but no pics ....PICS ADDED
Does anyone know if you can post camera phone pics?? I just completed my custom intake and wanted to share some pics/info. My girl has the camera on her so pics will have to wait til morning. Damn I want to show it off...
Well here it is....
It uses the factory clips so easy to remove. I used 3" tube with a 45 degree bend, some well you can see from the pic. I took TEAMREDLINE's idea and modded it a little so it could be removed and went from there. Thanks to mig888 and TEAMREDLINE for the idea and hope this help keeps others inspired so we can get some more parts for our cars. Everything I used can be done by any do it yourselfer. Let me know what you guys think. Thx.

Thx for the kind remarks, I'm glad you all like it. I have noticed, what feels like, a slight increase in throttle response in the lower RPM range and a noticable increase in the 4000-5500 rpm range. It seems to me like the ram-air effect works pretty good (of course I'm bias ).
I'm going to talk to a friend of mine about making a mold so if anyone is interested in one I'll see about making some. Besides that, if anyone wants to make one you can get everything for around $60. Just let me know and I'll provide parts and stuff.

Awesome job! Welcome to the make your own parts club =).
And you're right about the response, especially higher up there in the RPM. On freeway runs I can feel my scoop "scooping".

Well its still going strong. I can definitely tell a difference in the 80-100 run. Feels like a kick in the rear. Good Luck to anyone trying this on their own, its worth it....

That looks pretty sick. So could you provide links to the parts (or where to get them) and maybe some directions as to how you would install that.

Yes, definitely looks VERY clean. Nice work!
Have you done a dyno run (before and after)? Not saying the pipe doesn't actually improve performance, it does remove a couple of sharp bends after all, but just wondering exactly how much gain (numbers-wise) we're talking.
If you can show some hard numbers proving a decent gain, you just got yourself a customer

i'm not trying to discourage your nice workmanship here, but arcylic have a temperature range from 0-200 F, which works out to be about 94 degree C, at most time, the underhood temperature could reach higher than that with the exhaust/header under the hood. I'm sure it won't melt but just keep an eye on the arcylic and cement that glued it together.
Also, if the mold has a larger opening and more slanted (like a taper style instead of a flat wall) would be great....
