on C230 coupe the lower 'hatch' clear plastic part can i...either use really dark tint (5%) so that it will give me a more blended-in look? I have black coupe and got that color so that the pana sunroof and rear blend in better. I have my car recently tinted w/ 35-20-20 (legal in tx) but thinking what if I tint that lower clear plastic part too? is that legal? I figure it will give the coupe a more distinct and blended-in look esp that I have a black car.

I would imagine that whatever tinting laws apply in your area would also be applicable to the polycarbonate panel.

I don't think there's any laws governing tint on the extra viewpane because so few cars have them. My only concern would be whether or not the tint film would stick to the plastic okay.

( The Tint Shop) tried to tint The Lower Plastic window on the Hatch..
But it Wont work...

because tint only sticks to glass not plastic. i tried for my car 2 but it did not work. when the whole car is tinted dark it makes the little window look tinted to.

What about those tints ppl use to smoke out their tail lights?

You can try it on the inside of the plastic view... if it doesnt work right then u can peel it off anyways

that tint you use for tail lights may work but i think that is like a one chance deal isnt it? once its on i dont think you can take it off. not that you would want to, but mainly if you messed up it could be a costly mistake.

What are you talking about? White rules I probably would've gotten black but I like the distinctness of the black part of the tail actually hehe. Also black is a little harder to take care of, dust But when black is clean *drool* Nice car man, I love those wheels!!! I love A4's too!! How is your coupe compared to the A4? I know totally diff cars but still, which do you like better?

thanks guys yeah its a pain to keep it clean:p but when its clean its all worth it...well here's the breakdown on A4 and C230coupe

A4 - 4 doors, lots mods avail (but lots $$$$), driver/performance oriented instrument gauges and overall interior, tiptronic more driver "involved" then touchshift

c230k coupe - already nice from factory (mostly), u get alot for about $29k, pana roof, MB name (perception to most ppl.), nice balance btwn ride comfort/sportyness

not only is it hard to keep clean but the swirl marks i got drove me nuts. id wash it and it seemed 30min later the car was so dusty id keep a duster in my trunk at all times. it was to much work. i vowed to never get black car again, though when clean it is gorgeous.
