Cool c240 door handles

Hello,

I just bought a silver 2001 c240 (in Canada). I'm not a big fan of the black door handles that are on the car. Does anyone know where I can find silver ones, how much they would cost, etc? Can I just paint them silver?

Thanks.

Painting your door handles can be done, but I doubt that it would look good. Your dealer should be able to get you the Elegance door handles. Three of them won't be very expensive, but the driver's door handle is more. Search the forum for more information about changing the handles. There are at least two threads about this.

Those are the rims that come with the C240 "Classic".

Go to: http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/ for more information.

They list:
Steel Wheels 7x16

As "standard equipment"...if I am not mistaken, steel wheels come with hubcaps...am I correct?

These might be great for snow wheels if they come with caps.

Lightbulb my new baby!

Thank you for the "CONGRATS", Timorgan! I'm very happy with the car.

I have a budget of ~$4000 Canadian for 'upgrades.' I'm thinkin 17" wheels, tints, sports grille, lowering the car and silver door handles (obviously).

I saw some really nice Lorinser rims - LM5 I believe - that I'd love to put on my car. However, they seem far too expensive for my budget. Any recommendations re. similar but cheaper rims (ie. replicas)? Also, how much will a sports grille run me?

Thanks again.

painting door handles

If you decide to paint your door handles get them done properly... prime it, then wet sand it well before you paint them... I did it the cheap way (by myself) and the door handles would often get stuck in the extruded position... I eventually for it done properly at a paint shop.

Also check the threads for problems with tinting the w203... seems like an abrasive plastic piece will scratch your tint. There are workarounds.

cheers

Look around on this site and the C-Coupe site...you might be able to score some 17" C7 rims from someone who has put on 18 or 19 inch rims. Ive seen one other C class sedan with the C7 wheels(they are beautiful rims BTW) and it looks pretty good. Maybe you'll even get a set with the OEM 225/45 Pilots in good shape still. Hehehehehe. Maybe not

I had my handles painted at a Mercedes dealer here in Montreal
and they did a very good job and I am very satisfied with the end result. Replacing the door handles is very a expensive job, you are looking to close to a $ 1000 including labour compared to
$ 200 taxes included to have them painted.

Good luck
Neil
