Check Engine Problem
Thanks Glyn. Definitely don't see the cost or potential headaches as worth it for a "few" HP. I'd need 11hp to even reach 200.. that's a sobering thought and reality check for the C230.

You have a vacuum hose leak or dirty or failing MAF most likely.

Hi, I have a W204, 2010, c180, 1.6L AMG Sport, and the check engine light came on a few weeks ago, the dealer checked and the error code was "Boost Pressure not in range". the car has clocked 40,000 Kms. They dismanttled the entire supercharger hoses and checked the intercooler and all connections for air leaks, non found, then they replaced the pressure sensor. few miles down the road check engine light on again, then they replaced the MAF (Air Flow Sensor) well few miles down the road again check engine on, car does not move the way it is suppose to when the light comes on.but if you re start the car it moves for awhile and then again it slows down. Air Cleaner was also changed. I have been to the dealer so far on 6 occations and the problem still persists.can anyone help or share your thoughts on this
Codes 3539, 2188, 2263
Hi there,
Newbie on this forum here. Sorry to resurrect this old thread! i have exactly the same fault codes.
I have a 2008 C-Class 200k (1.8 kompressor). The engine management light recently came on and the car is now underpowered and struggles to go above 60 on the motorway.
I took it to my local dealer and they found the fault codes:3539 - the boost pressure deviates from one the specified value, and 2188 - the mixture (cylinder bank 1) is too rich at idle speed. My handheld scanner also picked up 2263 but this was not recognised on the dealers machine.
They have not yet diagnosed the problem and want to charge for a further 1 hour of diagnostics to further investigate. My local specialist seems to think it may be a MAF issue, but is unsure if this would throw the 3539 code and wants to spend some time investigating this.
Any help on what the problem may be would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Lee
