Quote: IMO 18" is the perfect size for w203...comfort/performance/tyres price... better, just 17's

congrats, looks great, but it would look even better lowered..
haha, thanks. I know it would look better lowered, but come on, I'm going from 19's to 18's, I'm looking for comfort now with this car

Quote: Those look fantastic Phil
Thanks, John!

Quote: +1 very nice look!
Thanks, Matt!

Quote: I'd agree - they look good on the car.

Now, blue painter's tape for numbers on a $100k sports car... Phil, a real number set would cost you less than a lug nut. Especially with a blue car. Oh the humanity!
lol, thanks, Tommy!

Yes, I know the numbers look bad. But, I've run four track events in this car and only this one required those numbers. So, I had to improvise. Any suggestions on where I can get a good set of magnetic numbers that won't fly off at 150mph?

Nissan provided some numbers that I put on the rear window at Laguna Seca, but they weren't big enough to use for this event.

These guys have ads in GRM. Haven't used them myself, but if they advertise in Grassroots Motorsports, they can't be all bad.

Because of you, Tommy, I bought the big numbers...

At Laguna Seca:

They're magnetic, but they stayed on!

Just wanted to share this with you guys.

I haven't modded my cars heavily like many of you guys until really now (and I can't really say that it's too heavy either). I put an AMS Alpha 6 kit on the GT-R (with some added goodies for track safety as well).

On my most aggressive map (drag race map), the car put down 583whp/624ft-lbs. On the street map it put down 554/609 and my road course map (I wanted to be safe and conservative) it put down 489/514.

Here are some vids.

On the dyno:

Time to update this thread.

The W203 is still running strong with about 135k miles on the clock.

I finally took delivery of my CLA45 AMG in Sindelfingen last week and have been driving it around Europe. I love it, it's pretty damn fast (I'd say significantly faster than my old E46 M3) and the steering and suspension is great. It's been fantastic on the Autobahn and I've taken it up to 160mph (best part was that was done legally). It's also been getting some fantastic reactions from car peeps.

I'll post pics soon, but here's a preview.

Cool! Remember the break-in and don't go over 3k on the tach.

Did you go to the MB Museum in Stuttgart? Fun place - did the Sind tour, but not euro delivery. If I liked any current Benzes, I'd consider it. Have fun over there, looking forward to more pics.

lol, thanks guys.

I followed the break-in rpm limit of 4,500rpms, but not the max break-in speed of 100mph. Kinda hard to do that on the Autobahn...

I did the MB Museum a couple years ago on my last Euro Delivery. This time, I did a private tour in Affalterbach in addition to the Sindelfingen your.

I put over 1900km's on the car and right after break-in was done, I pegged the **** out of it on the Autobahn. Hit 260km/h.

Waz up Phil! Glad you are enjoying the GTR and not keeping it in the garage like most people lol

The CLA looks great. A car I would get in a heartbeat. I drove one and boy does that thing move. Everything is perfect on the car. Looks, speed, interior, comfort. Congrats man. When you gonna stake me for a spin in the GTR?

P.S Do you still go to those Trance clubs?

Quote: So, the 19's are off and I've replaced them with 18's:

OEM 18" AMG Styling VI's from the CLK63 AMG. 18x8 and 18x8.5 with 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 (I went with Hankook Ventus V12 Evos). The rear wheels are slightly concave.

The car is so much more comfortable now and I'm liking the contrast of the gunmetal in the wheels, lol.
Absolutely stunning pictures

MBWorld is my home forum. It's what started the car obsession for me and no matter what car I have, I'll always come back to MBW.

That being said, it's been somewhat of a tradition for me to update this thread.

Well, I got a new car yesterday and just wanted to share it with the homies...
