Per a previous thread I mysteriously cannot reply to now, I need help. I've struck out on all avenues of trying to confirm this package availability through dealers. This is what is referred to as Evolution AMG in Europe.

If someone that has access to someone from MBUSA can get them to contact me and confirm the package is indeed going to be available on 2002 models, I will hold off to order the car once this package is available.

Please e-mail me @ E-mail SLCVR6 if you can help provide me more concrete info and I will provide more detailed contact info as necessary.

I am willing to wait for the package availability, but not if it is not confirmable by someone at MBUSA now. I'm sure you understand...trying to prevent a form of buyer's remorse to an extent. Thanks much.

I just had another dealer call me to say that no one they contacted within MBUSA or any of their data available in their ordering system shows this package will arrive this year or at all. Nothing in newsletters or other materials the dealers receive, either.

Anyone work for a dealer on here or involved from MBUSA?

Please, if anyone has a tie-in to MBUSA and can get some sort of confirmation, I'd love to know. If not, I'll stick with what I've got coming down the pipeline. I have no plans to buy another new car in the next 4-5 years, so the longer I wait this out for more detail, the less chance I'll be unhappy if the option does indeed make a debut in the US.

I probably wouldn't hold my breath for the AMG EvoII package making it to the US. I seem to recall that there was a similar package available for the previous W202 generation of C-class sedans that never made it to the US. Not to mention, none of the MB designo packages have ever been offered here either.

Buying a car is a little like buying a computer. No matter what you get within some period of time there's something better, although with a car generally you get a year or two not three weeks. Just got to be happy with your choice at the time.

EVO II package and other enhancements are not going to be offered in the current model year. A previous post suggests that they will but this is not correct. Serveral new features and packages will definitely show up for MY2003. So go ahead and continue with your purchase.
