You guys need to start figuring out what mods you want to make to your car using this check that is on the way (for those that qualify).

Take a look at the article!

OT, but when my check arrives, it’ll go toward that E55 the Mrs. needs.
That’s bound to jumpstart the economy.

Oh snap, the money in that check was mine to begin with anyway!

actually, it's your AGI of 75 + 12, so 87. Make more than that and you get zero. Make more than 75 (up to 87) and you get less than a $600 check.

Nice to get totally hosed, isn't it? How do you feel about funding that schmuck buying a dozen cupcakes with his food stamp debit card?

Probably not as bad as the schmuck who has to use a food stamp debit card to buy cupcakes.

Keep in mind this is a REBATE check, not a REFUND. It is essentially an advance on your tax return for next year. The government, in their infinite wisdom, is giving you money in 2008 that they will take back in 2009.

The reason they are giving money to the cupcake eating foodstamp population is because they will spend the money at Walmart buying mods like spinning hubcaps. On the other hand, the MB driving population is more likely to go online and buy Bosch parts from a European company (or buy stocks).
