Lightbulb Help needed with installation of Audio 10 CD!!!

Hi all,

I have just brought an MB Audio 10 CD player from eBay. It is from a MB dealer in Germany, and he has told me it needs to be fitted by a MB dealer as it needs a code....

I thought it would be a stright swap for my old cassette player for the cd unit?

Does anyone know anything about this...

Many Thanks

here is a picture of the uni!

But to answer your original question... no there is no code. Just make sure you do NOT power up your car with stuff disconnected. Members have reported that this required their fiber loop to need resetting - then you do have to go in.

Otherwise, see post above and follow instructions.

Have fun!

As Peet mentioned no code is required. Just plug and play !!!
I did it myself and work perfect. No dealear involved at all.
Good luck!

Thanks for the quick replies, that guide is very detailed!

I asked about a code, as the dealer I brought it from in Germany said it would require a code? I did not know what he met by that!

I thought it would be plug and play! ... thanks I will keep you posted on any developments..

Do you guys have any tips on installations not mentioned in the guide?

Actually, what many members have posted, and what I experienced as well, is that you STILL need to go in to the dealer to have the communication loop re-set in many cases. My Audio 10 won't play (no sound to the speakers) unless I fiddle with turning it on, or turning on the car, or back-and-forth, until I hit the magic combo for that particular time. Since my car is currently in the body shop, I haven't gone in to have the loop reset, but I will, and from others' experience that will fix the issue.

If for any reason it says PROD on the display, they tried to install it in a non W203 car and the radio is locked out. Return it or pay Becker to reset it. I did it on my Audio because I was playing with it, took 3 months to get it back from Becker.

There is no code for the cassette player, either.
