Love the HDR shots with the sick clouds. Your car is sick, time for a nice set of 19"s tho.

Unless the area is 100% flat, applying the vinyl is a royal pain in the ***. You can NOT make it flex. The top of dash near the air vents is two pieces of vinyl because it would have wrinkles if it was one piece. Its hard to notice the seams on the dash The door pieces are the hardest to wrap, and you will have seams and a few sharp corners sticking out.

I am probably going to order some of their flexible CF and see how that looks. If they come up with a flexible 3D CF then I am all over it.

Hope that cleared a few things up.

Congrats on the wheels, make sure you post some pics when mounted.

Great info, I think the samples I got were of the flexible Carbon.

Two last questions..sorry

Did the 3D have the sticker backing? or did you need an adhesive?

How much did you buy? 12x5ft?

Thanks and sorry to ruin your precious thread with my

Jon

Its cool Jon, that what this thread is for.

Yes, the 3D CF had a sticker backing.

I dont remember off the top of my head, but I am pretty sure I got 6 feet. I think 5 feet is more than enough, but I wanted extra in case I f***ed up

That'll look good Gary.

He got it off of ebay from a company called metrosellers or check the web for metro decals...

What would look even better is my silver CF trim with your Brabus R171 shift knob. LOL...

Yea, what Jon said.

Oh snap.

I am going to have to do some crazy mods for FunkFlex to compete with you

Maybe I'll paint my old 19's and throw them on (if they clear the calipers)

The judges at these shows like bling.

Yeah I know! lol Nick, I so want a trophy. haha, and it looks like (so far) we are the only two c-classes that are showing up!

I already thought of some...quite interesting "vinyl-based" modifications for the coupe!

I left the vinyl place a message, lets hope they call back soon! I hope to get the roll in soon!

When you wrap exterior parts are you going to put a clearcoat on it or just wrap it and leave it? I'm thinking of doing my AMG rear spoiler and diffuser to go with my flat black wheels...

I dont know the process of how to do the exterior CF wrapping correctly...

Nick, did you put a clear coat on the interior pieces?

No, I didn't clear coat them. No real need to. I am not a huge fan of how it looks, so if it gets damaged I could care less.

Nice

We probably wont get any trophies since there are some ballers with hooked up SL's or S classes that usually win.

Maybe if I put cotton in my wheel wells it will attract the judges.

Thanks for the info. I saw that you signed up to come out for the NY meet at TT Motorsports. I'm going to try and make it to that one and hopefully see your car in person. It really looks incredible good luck and enjoy it.

Thanks.

I am going to try to make it as well. About a 50% chance that I will be there, but if it rains and gets moved to Sunday then about 90% chance.

Yea, I will be with ET.

Not sure man, maybe the hood. I dont think the judges will look very close at the wheels.

I just hope that these judges are a bit more thorough then the fackers at wheel concepts.

I am going to order some vinyl as well. I got a few ideas

Killed two birds with one stone.

Got my license plate lights working (no errors or flickering) and the entire bottom portion of my tail lights now light up. I didnt want to use resistors since they get too hot and I didn't want to risk burning something. This is where I got creative.

I needed something that runs cool and doesn't draw too much power. So I bought more LEDs. 1156 taillight bulbs to be exact.

I then spliced into the license plate wires, hooked them up to a socket and placed the new led bulb in the rear fog light socket.

Together the taillight bulb + the license plate bulb draw enough power that no error is thrown.

*oh and I also bought a set of 194 LED's for the city lights, they match the HIDs perfectly and 0 errors, thanks Mike.

--------------------------------------

DIY as requested:

You'll need to buy a set of these bulbs.

hey, I don't mean to offend, but is it just me or is C24owner's brakes in the wrong place?

Don't all our cars have calipers on the rear-side of the rotors? is this some mod I don't know about, but his calipers seem to be at the top frontside of the rotor.
