Service Intervals
This from a forum that won't start a new thread if the question has already been posted by another member.Nothing in the stickies even comes close to the most up to date diy procedures and a gentle point in the right direction, manual or no manual would be appropriate.
Sure a search helps.A nice welcome to the forum and some consideration also would be a nice addition.
That is enough to get someone started. And it actually fits into the question. How is that for close? By your definition appearently not.

and if I might add a very mature attitude from a so called moderator to tell him to STFF. So I can understand where the 17 yo gets his lead

I found something very cool....
Individual service sheets (in MILES not KM) for each year, and separate ones for AMG models.
I considered posting them all, but it occurs to me that at some point, people need to break down and buy this dvd.
It's about 60 bucks from 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES.
Back in the day, when the evil empire prevented from knowing anything, many of us guessed or developed our own procedures. But those days have been gone for over a year now. Now, that said, the search engine on the DVD stinks, and basically you need to go through it all, and see whats interesting, which takes time getting to know what looks good.
Also, having a pdf file printer is essential, and a good free one can be had at cutepdf.com since there's no way to bookmark stuff once you've found it. Also once you've printed it as a pdf, you can cut and paste text, which you can't do in the DVD UI, which just sux.
The service sheets link to other places on the DVD that actually tell you how to do things, so again, it's a good investment.
The service sheets are located under
Repair and Maint
Body and Accessories
20- Maint, Service system
Maintenance
Just for the hell of it, I'll post the one for 2005.
And I updated the reset service light thread.

Don't rely on auto parts stores for correct service parts like oil and filters. Many of their computer entries are flat wrong, and can damage your engine.
Some dealers are just taking your backside without the benifit of a reach around with their prices for A and B service, but some have more competitive prices because they are going to look for warranty work to be done for you. If your warranty is expired, it is still good to have a practiced eye oggle your chassis with an ocasional service A.

Maybe you need to STFF him. A quick search revealed that within a span of 2 weeks he asked the same question on an item. Interesting what history can reveal, isn't it?
Anyway thanks for those who were kind enough to get started.
