Aftermarket Navigation INstall and Purchase

Hey guys,
I will be travelling to the NJ area (Edison) in the next cpl of weeks and I wanted to get an aftermarket Nav system installed in a reliable and good store that knows what they are doing into my 2002 C32. I want to make sure I can use the steering wheel buttons also, can you can tell me a place or help me out who can do this or has done this in the NJ area before?
Thanks a lot
D

It seems like you're looking for a non-portable one but can I recommand you garmin portable navis? the one I have is called c550 i think? it was like 250 bux i think and it really gets the job done.

and the good thing about that is so ur friends/family can use it in their cars too. dunno if ur car has phone connectivity but mine doesnt, so this garmin also has bluetooth phone function. its not the best quality since the build-in speakers are small but it gets the job done!

well i apologize if you didn't want to hear all these, afterall, your thread says u want to get a in-dash one.

good luck anyway let us know what u end up buying

Joe

I've got myself Avic D3 and it's a very good unit. Since you are living in Toronto, will you consider installing the system in Toronto area? if so i can give you my shop's contact. They have good service and the price for D3 by the time i bought from them was very reasonable. Also they are authorized dealer from pioneer as well. So warranty is not an issue. Let me know.

PM me your shop please...do they do just audio? I got my nav unit installed somewhere near steeles and 410 and they did a reasonable job. But now i wanna run wires to my trunk for my sub so i need to get that done. Is your shop familiar with benz's?
Thanks

Look for Paul

Tell him Henry with silver Mercedes referred you. He knows what to do.

That guy knows how to deal with Benz, i think i referred several mercedes ppl to his shop, so he's pretty comfortable with MB now.

A quick search will give you tons of information on the steering wheel controls....probably why no one has answered.

But, anyway, you can either use pac-audio (canbus and swi adaptors) or pioneer makes another unit that you can purchase.

Steering wheel controls work great.

Well, to actually answer his actual question, I have a couple of options a little north of Edison:

Action Tire on Rte. 46 in Lodi and Installations Unlimited in Union on 22, just off the Garden State Parkway.

Unfortunately, don't know about anything that far south. But what might help you is to go to a high-end equipment manufacturer's website (I'll say Memphis, for example), and click on where to buy. That may help.
