MP3 CD's Revisited
I after lots of reading and burning CD and head scratching im not able to get MP3 CD's to play in my 2005 C230 I don't have nav but do have the 6 Disk changer. I have tried a DATA CD burned through window's explorer that has 99 MP3s on it and it will not play in the CD changer. If anyone knows the specifics on what works when it comes to MP3 CD's i would appreciate your input.

So one of you says no and the other says some will. e1000 are you saying that some of the stock MB CD changers will read MP3 CD's and others wont is this just specific to the C230's or the 2005's or what? I know ive read somewhere that at least the 6 disk changer would play MP3 CD's. Does anyone have a definite answer on this?

Might be the format of the disc and/or the amount of the data on the disc. I've burned probably a dozen CD-R's (Memorex) and they've worked just fine in my 6 disc changer (and in the HU single disc player). They definitely didn't have the capacity for 99 songs, though (more like 15-20).

cd-changer model mc-3520 will play mp3 cd's
cd-changer model mc-3330 will NOT.
my '05 car came with 3330 and I had to buy a 3520 to replace it to get mp3 capability.
if i remember correctly, 06-07 usually had mc3520 but not necessarily and 05's usually had mc3330 or mc3310 (which also does not play mp3 cd's).
hope that helps.
of course...to best confirm this, you'd have to take your cd-changer out of the glove box to check on the model number. its only 1 torx screw holding the changer though

Thats because you did not burn the songs in MP3 Format. In MP3 Format, 100 or so songs can fit on a CD-R.

you can fit up to 20 songs (or so on average) using normal cd .wav format (depending on song length/size of course)
the 99 song limit for mercedes cd-changer is extremely annoying and they don't play folders either i think.
just a reminder that '05 and up are on a different "system" - MOST while the older cars are on something called D2B. so i don't think using a newer changer will work on older cars. search the forums, some threads are harder to find nowadays but please search. thats where i'm getting this info.
oh, '05 and up COMAND HU's play mp3's i think. Don't know if theres a song limit or the difference between dvd's and cd's. someone want to share on this?

2006 C230
I have 2006 C230 and I burned an mp3 CD with 94 tracks on it and playing it in the CDC works fine. I burned the CD with iTunes as an MP3 CD (not DATA).
The only problem I have is that it won't show the track info. All it says is Track 1 - 94. Is there any way I can fix it to display the Track name? BTW I DON'T have the COMAND system.

Eric,
Remember when I PMed you about that thing? Are you done with the thing you had to do? You know that thing that you did couple of weekends in a row? One of that thing included Vegas. If so you want to do the thing this coming weekend that I PMed you about?
