C-Class (S203/W203) 4MATIC thread - All you want to know
My coupe also gets great milage...both around town and on the highway. But it's a totally different car and driving experience. I was trying to get an SLK loaner lined up for when I bring my coupe in for it's second B service (probably Jan/Feb)...but they wouldn't commit to it. <sigh>
I agree that gas mileage could be better, but I get about 27mpg in highway cruising. I bought the 240 rather than the 320 because I felt the added performance from the 320 was not worth the increase in price. I have not had any reason to question that decision. I love the handling/ride combination of the C Class.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
But with all the complaints I see left and right about the c-class,
it scares me.
Is the c-class as reliable as a vw, toyo or honda?
What would be a reasonable price to pay for an 02 or 03 c240 4matic?
thanks!

As for the C240 4matic, I don't think they produced this car in the US in 2002. Not sure about the later years.
Paying MSRP 45,500 a dear friend of mine owns the dealership.
has all options signing papers this week and car should arrive in july.
big and fast is right right 425hp 420 tq but its also heavy 4200 ibs. to me its the best american copy of an e55 for a awesome price. i love the styling and only 5,000-10000 to be made a year thats also pretty nice for 45 gs
In any event, part of the reason I am considering a switch is the desire for AWD, as my car, even w/ dedicated snow tires, still stinks in the snow on all the hills in my area.
My questions are thus: How do cars w/ 4matic compare to standard RWD models in terms of handling, speed (0-60, passing power, 1/4 mile, etc) and general performance? Yes, I see there is a very slight weight penalty, but not too much else.
Comments? Thoughts?
What I would likely do is keep the stock 16" wheels for winter use & get some Dunlop Sport M3 snow tires. I'd then get 17" wheels tires (possibly the same ASA AMG look alikes) and summer tires for the restr of the year. At this point I just need to see a 350 and drive it. Really liked the E500, but (to me) its just not worth an additional 15-20K. Its nice, but not THAT nice!
Hey. I was wondering if anyone had any luck lowering a 4matic. One of the forum members, Vraa, ricky.agrawal, mentioned that Renntech springs might work. Any experience with these? Anything will be appreciated.
Jeff
